Review: After being a member of GetFit gym for a year and a half, I decided to hired a personal trainer in August named [redacted] I was extremely pleased with [redacted]s service and did in fact see results from the training I did with him. Beyond his excellent training, [redacted] was very understanding and accommodating of my schedule and availability which was set for Mondays and Tuesdays between 10am - 1:30pmIn November of 2014, I was informed that [redacted] no longer worked for GetFit, and I was reassigned a new trainer named [redacted] From the beginning [redacted] seemed very unaccommodating to my schedule and apparently disinterested in my training. I notified [redacted] of my availability which was, again, Mondays and Tuesdays between 10am and 1:30pm. [redacted] was not able to meet with me Mondays and told me that I would only be able to train with him on Tuesdays and that I would need to make myself available to him on other days despite my schedule. Do to the schedule conflicts I was only able to meet with [redacted] 3 of the 8 sessions I had paid for that month.I notified [redacted] that I would be going into a major surgery in the beginning of December, and would be on bed rest for the next 3 weeks following and not able to train for an additional 3 - 4 weeks beyond that time as well based on my doctor recommendation due to the type of surgery I was undergoing. In preparation of my surgery, in November I had to attend a few pre-op appointments with my doctor and needed to reschedule my training times with him during the month of November which he was not able to make himself available for any changes during this month."I will provide all texts in additional details." I felt very intimidated and threatened by the harsh nature and tone of [redacted]s responses that bordered aggressive and anger and were clearly uncalled for. I notified GetFits management of the situation and they were clearly un-remorseful and trivialized the issue saying only that he would switch my trainer but did not apologize for the manor in which his trainer acted or spoke to me, he also did not take any action against [redacted] as a representative of the gym either. At this point, I am dissolving my relationship with the Gym and simply want to file a formal complaint about the actions and manor in which GetFit has acted and treated their customers with the utmost disrespect and aggression.Desired Settlement: I'm not sure what my desire settlement is because all I want was a sincere apology from the trainer and from the manager. At this point I want my money back for the sessions I did not use in November and to get out of my contact with my trainer.

Review: My gym contract is on a month-to-month term. On 12/11/13 I submitted paperwork in person at the gym to cancel. On 12/12/13 [redacted] called (voicemail message) me to advise my membership would be canceled effective Feb 1st, 2013 (52 days after receipt of cancelation!). I called [redacted] back twice (12/12/13 & 12/16/13) and finally on 12/20/13 she returned my call stating she will not cancel prior to Feb 1, 2014 billing due to the contract allowing for over a 30 day cancelation notice and a full month of January 2014 will be charged due to their system not being able to prorate out. The contract does not state mid-month cancelation will result in a full month's billing., therefore the gym has no right to enforce this charge/rule. Note, she did confirm their system supporting prorating in for new members joining (poor business practice, to “only support" prorates when it is in their financial interest).

BREACH OF CONTRACT: Get Fit by law, has 30 days to cancel my membership. That means I legally can not dispute the membership charge from Jan 1 - 11th gym fee, nor can Get Fit legally charge me beyond Jan 11th. The contract states a min of 30 day cancelation notice & the cancellation form, signed on 12/11/13 states "will be enacted in 30 days", yet the gym feels a 52 day enacted along with an extra full month of memebrhsip billing is allowed – this is NOT allowed. The gym is only authorized to bill me $7.04 for Jan 1 - Jan 11, 2013 if they desire to not cancel the membership prior to 30 days (which they have a legal right to wait 30 days, but is poor business practice to do so!).Desired Settlement: Min by law: Get Fit shall cancel my membership on Jan 11, 2014 and charge $7.04 for the membership fee from Jan 1 - Jan 11, 2014.

If Get Fit is a good business establishment, they should cancel my membership effective 12/31/13 and not charge for the January membership fee.

Review: I cancelled membership in July and was told I would be billed for August since I failed to provide a full 30 day notice to cancel. I was billed for September and October. I have a saved voicemail from the person in charge of billing, [redacted], verifying automatic deductions would stop in August since I put, in writing to cancel. Get Fit acknowledged my request and completely disregarded our contract by debiting my account after we parted ways. Getting a call back or someone on the phone to help with this is almost impossible.Desired Settlement: They owe me a total of $85.56 for the two membership fees deducted in September and October.
