This place needs to be shut down. They charge you for things that were never done. Lie right to your face without even a hint of reserve. Cannot do competent work. Will ruin your vehicle. Do not go here. You've been warned.

I went in for a gear install. The owner (claims he knows what he's doing and has been in business for years) not only ruined the new gears, he don't replace any bearings or seals (that they charged me for) nor does he know how to set gears. Not one bit of set paint on the ring gear was applied. Nothing was done correctly.

This place is a fraud. They should be shut down. This place is still open btw. Beware

Improper repairs and not installing parts that were paid to be installedHad a set of gears front and rear installed one my 2007 Jeep Wrangler that were installed improperly causing catastrophic failure and damage that forced me to take it to another shop to have repaired on both front and rear axles of the vehicle, paid to have Yukon gears and master install kits for the gears put into the differentials along with brand new gear carriers, unsure if new carriers were installed but the master install kit was not used and when disassembled it was found that the shims installed in the differential were reused factory shims instead of the new ones paid for with the kit along with the crush collar not being compressed as it should due to improperly setting the pinion gear preload, when the front went they claimed it was my fault and would not stand behind the work that I was guaranteed to be correct, acted as if I had no idea what I was doing, had a dealership technician in Pennsylvania rebuild the front differential with parts I provided, the rear end completely blew apart causing me to have it towed out to another shop to be completely replaced including a new axle housing that was cracked, ring and pinion gears, another master install kit, and a new carrier installed. Both causes of failure were due to pinion preload being improper and the pinion nut not being torqued to spec. Had taken it back to said shop a week after the work was done because the pinion had play and they claimed it was fine, a few months later the front pinion bearing came apart due to the play in the shaft caused by the improper install of the gears.Desired SettlementI am seeking to be reimbursed in the full amount for the other shop replace my rear axle and the components damaged due to their work. More Info Received From The Consumer Gears were installed in May of 2015Business Response Concerning the complaint that was entered with you....Customers vehicle was re geared and was running just fine when it left. He actually took it kidding and off-roading the same weekend on URE trails in [redacted] NC. Other customers saw he up there driving his jeep and also we had numerous pictures of him driving it on the trails and also mudding it at a local place that is prohibited to vehicles. After 4 months of him beating on his vehicle he did damage to the jeep and well the ring and pinion were done. Vehicle was covered in mud and in bad shape. I explained to customer that manufacturer was not going to warranty the gears since it left fine and he was off roading it to an extent such vehicle could handle. He was upset with us. We tried to come to agreement where we would indeed help out with new labor cost but he had to buy the new R&P. Customer was extremely upset with us and we could not come to an agreement. He had a friend come to shop and they picked up jeep after he decided not to have fixed and the hauled it off which I'm sure did more damage then what was already done due to the way it was dragged out by himself. I have pictures and all invoices and proof that jeep was good to go. His disruptive driving is what caused his vehicle to break not our work. And I will also like to add that local competitive shops will tell customers more damage was done and blame other shops just to gain business so unless he came back to me with such said proof I am clueless on anything but the rear end being damaged. Thank you and any other questions or if you would like to see picture of such said vehicle I will be happy to forward them. All are time stamped and were awaiting a court date since that's what he told us he was doing. But to file a complaint with Revdex.com 5 months after it originally broke or a year since we actually did the job and the over reaction on stating more damaged then what there was at time we inspected it is unfairThank you

While deployed, I paid Get Ugly Customs to install various aftermarket upgrades to my 2012 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. Most items were installed wrong. I was deployed from [redacted] of 2013 until [redacted] 2013. During this time, I sent money back to my wife (also active duty) every month to pay for upgrades on our 2012 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. The upgrades included a 4" suspension lift, 2" body lift, front and rear bumpers, rock rails, flat fender flares, 37" tires with new rims, 5:13 gears, lights and light switches, "Get Ugly Customs" window decal x2. I was able to see the progress through pictures during my deployment. When I returned in [redacted] I was able to get a closer look at the work they had performed. These are issues I found per item installed. 1. 4" Suspension Lift: rear brake lines rub on the sway bar causing damage to the brake lines.2. 2" Body Lift: I wanted the largest tires possible with a 4" lift. They told me 37" would be the max. I purchased the 37's and they rubbed in the rear by the corner of the body. I made it very clear that I did not want to cut the body. They then told me for another $500 they could install a 2" body lift that would alleviate the tire rub without having to cut the body. Not only to the tires still rub when the rear suspension starts to flex, but during the installation they cut the body of the vehicle under the center console without informing me. So now not only has my vehicle been cut up, but the main Airbag harness for the vehicle runs right through this area. The Airbag harness was cut during this part of the installation. My Airbag system is now completely disabled.Additionally, the vehicle was lifted one side at a time to install this body lift. When the first side of the vehicle was lifted, the opposite side was pushed into the Rock Rail denting the front drivers side rocker panel.3. Front Bumper: During installation, the fron grill was scraped causing a small deep scratch that runs deep into the plastic.4. Rear Bumper: Vehicle was delivered to me with the bumper not complete. Parts were either lost or not delivered.5. Rock Rails: No issues.6. Flat Fender Flares: These particular fender flares require the use of the factory plastic inner fender wells. The instructions for these state very specifically on how to trim these inner fender wells so that you do not have big gaps in your fender wells. All four of mine were cut incorrectly leaving large unprotected spaces in my fender wells.7. 37" Tires with new Rims: I bought 5 new tires and 5 new rims. I paid for the balancing of all 5 tires. Only 4 were balanced.8. 5:13 Gears: I paid for the gears and the installation. I have the gears at home unopened in their box. 9. Lights and Light Switches: I paid for a set of lights and a switch assembly to be installed. The lights were never installed, nor do I have them in my possesion. The switch assembly was not installed either. I do have possesion of the switch assembly.10. Get Ugly Customs window decal: [redacted] orginally installed a green decal on the windshield. My wife didn't care for the color, so [redacted] installed a different one. Both times, she crawled onto the hood to install them. The hood now has a small dimple type dents where she placed her knees and feet. Desired Settlement When I first inspected the vehicle, all I noticed was the airbag light was on, the rear bumper was incomplete and the fender wells had large gaps in them. All of this was not noticable from the pictures that were emailed to me. Further, my wife knows very little about vehicles and did not know what to look for after an installation. We trusted these people to do the right thing. I first brought my concerns up to [redacted] (owner) both through txts and phone calls within a week of my return in [redacted] She told me to come by the shop so we could discuss it. I did go by the shop and expressed my dissapointment with the quality of work and also my dissapointment that the work I had payed for was not complete. I told her I wanted a refund on the work not completed as well as reimbursment on a bumper that was originally back-ordered. The first rear bumper I paid for $1059. The rear bumber that is currently on the vehichle was $899. Upon hearing this, I was met with verbal aggression by her partner [redacted] (owner). To avoid things escalating further, I asked for the remaining new parts I had at the shop and left. I broke down what was owed to me by looking at the invoices that had been emailed to me by [redacted] during my deployment. I was asking for a refund on work that was paid for and not performed as well as the difference in the cost of the two rear bumpers. It totalled around $850. [redacted] told me she would have to review it and get back to me. Several days later I recieved new invoices that were titled "Real Prices and Labor" and informed that they don't owe me anything. In the time that this has past, I have sought legal advice from my unit's [redacted] office. My [redacted] office has called and also has sent a certified letter to Get Ugly Customs. Neither the phone call from [redacted] nor the certified letter has brought any resolution. I would like to add that after I was treated this way by Get Ugly Customs, I went over the vehicle with a fine toothed comb and made note of all the damage and discrepancies I could find. I found much more than I had originally. I have had my vehicle inspected thoroughly by not only the dealership from where I purchased it, but also from a reputable 4 wheel drive shop in the area. No one is in any disagreement that all the damage was caused by either lack of experience or failure to follow instructions. I am in the process of completing the paperwork required to take them to small claims court. I have also contacted my insurance company to assist in the repairs. I expect Get Ugly Customs to reimburse either myself, my insurance company or both for all costs associated with the replacement, repairs and labor to my vehicle.
