[redacted] Just an additional note for you, aftermarket ebay are appx ea, the estimate thru the garage, they are $ea., and original equipment are $ea My ins will only pay for aftermarket, so I still have to pay the difference for OEM (which is what I have and what I want replaced with), PLUS my $deductible So it will still be costing me $out of pocket even with his $check I should have included that in my acceptance

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me OEM are $each ($would cover aftermarket), but as I have a $deductible, this seems fair I would accept their $check I stand by my statement, however, that my headlights were damaged by their company Regards, [redacted] ***

ID [redacted] In performing an exterior detail we use water, bug remover, soap, and polish It is ludicrous to think that we could have damaged their headlights We use only professional detail supplies In conversations with all of my suppliers they have never heard of such a thing The only reasons I know of to cause that type of damage to headlights is UV rays from the sun and magnesium chloride that is put down on snowy roads That is why there are many companies that sell headlight restoration systems, not detailing supplies There is no way I could replicate that damage if I had to All of my detail supplies come in plastic containers and their headlights are plastic In doing hundreds of details and washes I have never damaged headlights Not to mention the thousands & thousands done by other shops using the very same supplies There is no way we damaged them. That said I offered to replace them as a courtesy and while on the phone to order them they stopped me He said they were turning it in on their insurance [redacted] called me wanting my insurance coand I did not give it to them as I have no intention of filing a claim My cost to replace the OEM headlights would be under $to replace At this point I will not work on any of their vehicles, but I (as a courtesy) will write them the check for the $ Respectfully, Ron S***

Just an additional note for you, aftermarket ebay are appx 70 ea, the estimate thru the garage, they are $186.13 ea., and original equipment are $277 ea.  My ins will only pay for aftermarket, so I still have to pay the difference for OEM (which is what I have and what I want replaced with), PLUS my $250 deductible.  So it will still be costing me $300 out of pocket even with his $200 check.  I should have included that in my acceptance.

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:  It should also state that the check is to help with my $250 deductible, not help [redacted]'s portion.

such a thing.  The only 2 reasons I know of to cause that type of damage to headlights is UV rays from the sun and magnesium chloride that is put down on snowy roads.  That is why there are many companies that sell headlight restoration systems, not detailing supplies.  There is no way I could replicate that damage if I had to.  All of my detail supplies come in plastic containers and their headlights are plastic.  In doing hundreds of details and washes I have never damaged headlights.  Not to mention the thousands & thousands done by other shops using the very same supplies.  There is no way we damaged them. That said I offered to replace them as a courtesy and while on the phone to order them they stopped me.  He said they were turning it in on their insurance.  [redacted] called me wanting my insurance co. and I did not give it to them as I have no intention of filing a claim.  My cost to replace the OEM headlights  would be under $200 to replace.  At this point I will not work on any of their vehicles, but I (as a courtesy) will write them the check for the $200.                                                                                                                Respectfully,                                                                                                                Ron S[redacted]

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.
OEM are $277 each ($200 would cover aftermarket), but as I have a $250 deductible, this seems fair.  I would accept their $200 check.   I stand by my statement, however, that my headlights were damaged by their company.

I have reviewed the response made by the business, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.  OEM are $277 each ($200 would only cover aftermarkets found on sites such as ebay).  The after market replacement parts through the repair shop are $186.13 EACH.  My insurance only pays for after market, and as I had OEM before they were scratched, I will pay the difference and purchase OEM for the replacements.  [redacted] only gave me a check for $134, I am hoping that will at least cover the labor.  I have a $250.00 deductible and will have to pay that and the difference for OEM parts, so way more than $200 out of my pocket, more like $500.  I would accept their $200 check as it would definitely help, however, I still stand by my statement that my headlights were damaged by their company.  My head lights were not damaged by anything other than being deeply scratched.
