Getz Internal Medicine Behavioral Services

A MMR shot was required to attend College. I was referred to [redacted] Getz, I called to make see if they provided the shot that I needed. I made the appointment, when in on May 14, 2015 and received the MMR shot, to may surprise the office experience was billed in the amount of 1630.47, [redacted] negotiates discounts was 1059.80 which Dr Getz's office charged my HRA account 570.67. I called Tuesday, June 2, 2015 and spoke with the billing person, [redacted] stated "All new patients has to have a drug test", WHAT!!! Dr. Getz charges 1630.47 for a urine test. REALLY!!! I just needed a MMR shot. [redacted] stated well the sign was posted that all new patients are required to take a drug test, if you missed it oh well!! I stated WOW and hung up!!Desired SettlementI want to be charged for the service I received which was a MMR shot, not for something I did not request or need. I want my HRA money refunded. Business Response Patient did call to inquire about the charges for the drug screen. Patient was informed at that time all new patients receive a drug screen to ensure there were no medications that are not prescribed and prescriptions that are prescribed are in the patient's system. Patient was also informed that Getz Internal and Behavioral Services did not bill her or her insurance company. Patient was advised to call the Drug Screen company, [redacted], as they were the ones who billed the insurance company. All patients are required to sign before a drug screen is administered and made aware that a drug screen is being performed. Patient did sign the authorization for [redacted]. We have the signed copy if you would like to get a signed authorization from the patient we will be happy to release it to you. Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)Getz Internal and Behavior Services never gave me the Drug Screen Company's name. [redacted] told me that she did not know the number to Drug Screening company. I do not recall signing anything telling that I would be drug tested. I sent Dr. Getz an email asking for the sign copy of the forms I filled out on May 14, 2015. I also, requested a copy of their policy stating, every new patient is required to take a drug test. I have the email I sent on June 15, 2015. I have not received a reply from Dr. Getz as of July 2, 2015. Final Business Response The patient has been refunded back to their HSA account by the Drug Screening company. That company called us to let us know they had taken care of this matter and had also spoken to the patient to let her know this. attached you will find the policy that is posted at the check in window at the office and where pt signed form consenting to screening
