Review: They had or Van for 17 days never repaired the issue they say our van had for it not to pass smog. We went there 2 times to be informed it was ready. the first time he said "oh no that van is not ready sorry." went back 3 days later to be told "yes it ready," gave him $300. to then be told "oh its not ready, the ticket says its done but its not, its just that its the end of the month so the worker claimed the hours, but its not done." we then speak to the manager, he calls the someone in asks what going on, we are informed oh ill take a look at it today but my back hurts so it might be a few hours. By then we just inform them if its not fixed by 4:45 pm we are going to come get it and run it over to the DMV referee, in the morning, he says he will bet us $300 it wont work. we take it to the Referee and he informs us he has no idea what Fords talking about nothing is wrong with the van.Desired Settlement: I really don't know if I want anything from them, but you would have thought they said hey we really apologize here is a credit for service, or something.

Response:

We apologize (and have repeatedly) for the situation. Our smog machine wasn't communicating properly with the customer's vehicle. The $300 was refunded to the customer and we are very sorry for the miscommunications.

Review: On march 08, 2015 myself and my wife went into Larry Geweke Ford to trade in her 2012 Ford Escape for something a little newer/ roomier. The whole experience went fine until it came down to deciding the down payment. It was agreed that we were to use the net trade in on the 2012 escape, which was precisely $3828. One of the sales people asked if we can do an additional $1000 down, at which point I told them o did not have the cash or was willing to put any extra down. The sales Representative then went to what I assume was his office near the front of the dealership to supposedly check on a possible warranty Rebate from the 2012 ford escape. The sales Representative came back and assured me and my wife that the truck had a warranty refund coming back to us. The sales Representative and the car salesman told me I,d have to leave a check in the amount of $800 to leave as collateral until the warranty rebate came in. Being assured by the sales Representative who I foolishly believed I left the $800 check as part of their collateral policy. The other part to this complaint involves a skylink GPS Anti Theft device that was supposed to have been installed in the 2012 Escape and transferred over to the 2014 Explorer. It turns out the skylink system was never installed in the Escape.long story short, Larry Geweke agreed to reimburse the money for the Skylink system after we found out it was never installed. The complaint comes into play when Larry Geweke Ford tells us there is no warranty rebate and they are taking the $800 dollars from the $995 reimbursement from the skylink system. To me it seems absurd that a professional dealership had no way of checking records to find out my wife had canceled her extended warranty thus not having a rebate. I made several attempts to contact sales managers and even the owners son, and all basically said that it was all our fault, that we should have made sure the skylink system was installed and that we should have known there was no rebate.Desired Settlement: I believe that the sales team was very deceitful and unprofessional. I would not have agreed to purchase the vehicle if it required additional down payment. I believe I was tricked into leaving an $800 down payment under the rouse of a warranty rebate. The incompetence of not installing the Skylink system aside, I'd be happy if they returned the $800 that they conned us out of.

Response:

When Mr. & Mrs. [redacted] purchased their vehicle from us, we clearly disclosed the down payment of $800.00. We did try to help them by cancelling the warranty on the vehicle they were trading in. Mrs. [redacted] never mentioned she previously cancelled the warranty, and proceeded to fill out and sign a warranty cancellation form. We set up $800.00 as a down payment that was to come from the warranty cancellation. They gave us a check for that amount. Unfortunately, Mrs. [redacted] did not let us know she had already cancelled the warranty in 2012. I don't think Mr. [redacted] had knowledge of her having cancelled the warranty, as he was not on the loan or the registration of the vehicle traded in. When I spoke with Mrs. [redacted] about the situation, she indicated she understood all that happened and stated, "I guess it was just a misunderstanding between my husband and you guys." We will not be refunding the $800.00; all the supporting documents signed by Mr. & Mrs. [redacted] including their sales contract reflect this money was clearly set up as a down payment. Sincerely, Brett Geweke Geweke Ford

Response:

I am rejecting this response because:there was never an agreement to leave an additional $800.00 as a down payment. The $800.00 was left under the assumption that the sales Representative did his job and didn't just blindly guarantee that a rebate was there. I specifically told the service Representative that I was not in agreement of leaving an additional down payment, and that is when he approached me with the rouse of a warranty rebate. I agree it is my fault for trusting the service representatives involved. Along with the $995.00 Skylink GPS system they did not install, Larry Geweke has not only lost my business, but my family and friends business. When I spoke to not only Mr. [redacted] Geweke, but two of his sales managers they all stated that all the responsibility of telling them my wife had canceled her warranty and that we were the ones that should have followed up on the installation of our GPS system. That to me shows complete disregard for their customers!

Response:

Ms. [redacted] purchased the vehicle traded in on 2/18/12 and purchased a service warranty, Expresscare Sealant product and Skylink device for her vehicle. It was purchased and registered in her name only. A month later on 3/23/12 she cancelled her warranty and other products. The refund for those cancellations went directly to her lender. In looking at the paperwork, it looks to me as though Skylink was likely not installed because she may have thought she cancelled that purchase as well. However, Skylink is not a cancellable product. The attached Skylink Sales contract that Ms. [redacted] signed clearly states that by her signature, she is responsible for and agreed to make arrangements to have the system she purchased installed and activated within 15 days of purchase or lose the benefits under the guarantee. The only reason the dealership offered a cancellation option in this isolated case was as a goodwill gesture to help the [redacted]s with the $800 down payment they are obligated to pay Geweke Ford. A sales representative would never have any way of determining whether a customer had cancelled a warranty on vehicle purchase that happened 3 years ago. That is information only a warranty clerk would have access to. The sales representative did his job; he showed the customers what was necessary as a down payment. In the course of discussion, he asked questions regarding the vehicle traded in and presented the possibility of a refund (not a rebate) to help the customers with the down payment. At no time did he indicate the down payment would not be due in the event no refund was forthcoming. Because refunds are figured by the insurance companies, there’s even a clause right on the cancellation agreement the [redacted]s signed stating that regardless of what (if anything) the company sends in the way of a refund, the customer is responsible to sign over the amount of the down payment and/or pay any difference. Emotions and opinions aside, the fact is a legal and binding contract was signed by Mr. and Mrs. [redacted], reflecting their agreement to pay an $800 deferred down payment along with their check for $800 to further secure that payment. Currently, the funds from a Skylink cancellation that normally wouldn’t even be refunded has covered that payment for them. Would Mr. and Mrs. [redacted] prefer that we refund them the $800 we withheld and process the check they gave us instead? If that’s the case, and their check does not clear, they must understand that we will pursue the amount of the check plus damages.
