4-17-17Dear [redacted],We responded to a service request on March 3rd, 2017 and found the existing power wiring to the air handler had failed. We quoted a price to replace the failed wire. The proposed work was not approved by our customer. After being notified our Customer was not completely...

satisfied. We contacted them to arrange a time to resolve this issue. In an effort to please our customer we offered to return and replace the wire at no charge. We were then told the wire was already replaced by the customer and his brother. In an effort to satisfy our customer, we agreed to provide $250.00 worth of future services on their air conditioner. Our customer expressed he was pleased with this resolution. On April 11,2017 we received a service call for the circuit breaker for the air handler trips. We repaired the connection, replaced the switch and the circuit breaker for the air handler at no charge to our customer. On April 17, 2017. I called our customer to check on their air conditioning. Tell us why herOn 5-31-2016 we responded to a request for service on an air conditioning system. Upon arrival our technician did a thorough evaluation of the system and found several problems. The technician found the wiring for the compressor terminals burnt off, the compressor contactor contacts...

burnt and the condenser coil blocked with dirt. The technician then created a proposal for these repairs and presented it to the home owner for his approval. The homeowner signed the proposal and gave the technician permission to complete the repairs. The proposed repairs totaled $693  plus the  $69 dispatch fee for a total of $762.The $693 repairs were made up of the following tasks.Replace compressor contactor                                   ...                 183.00Clean blocked condenser coil                                      ...                 176.00Remove burnt wiring. I attempted to explain we do not do any “time and material” billing and that all repairs are priced based on the task as listed in our price book and the repairs are quoted before the work is done. He agreed that the repairs were quoted and he did approve the repairs. The home owner was not willing to accept the description of the work that was provided by the technician or from me.e...

I am rejecting this response because: First of all, my request for service was made on 5/27, not 5/31.  It took you 5 days to get a repairman there! I was never notified when anyone would come until shortly before. Secondly, I still don't know what the big secret is.  If your rates are honest, then why not disclose them? Third, there was never any mention of a "price book" when I asked for an itemized bill. Fourth, I'd be embarrassed to tears to charge someone 176$ to hose off a screen surrounding the coil. Fifth, you charge 70$ to call your own repairman and give him my address?? whew!Again, I stress that my complaint is with the business practice, NOT with the service technician or his work! There is no need for the business to reply further; they've stated their case and I mine. But be assured when it is time to replace the system. this company will NOT be considered!!!!
