Don't do business with this company!
I find this company to be a poor business to be involved with. Their prices have increased about 200% in the past six months, all with no notification or explanation. They just bill you. These increases are not just for fuel costs. I have contacted them about cancelling my services but have been advised it will cost me approximately $1100 to cancel my contract (which they say is not up until 2026. Who signs a contract for trash pickup to last to 2026?). While it will be expensive to cancel, I plan to do so as the savings will be worth it, especially since I do not know how much the costs for GFL will continue to grow.

They show up half the time.
GFL comes to my location every 2 weeks. In the last year that means they should have come 24 times. They have missed half those times. Calls to GFL have either been hung up or referred to a supervisor that promises to send a truck to collect, none ever show up. I've ask for a call back when the truck is on the way, I get a promise to call back and, you guessed it, never a call back. How they stay in business is a mystery. The village that contracted with GFL says they can't control them either so why are they using them. Worst business ever.

How racially insensitive, nonchalant, complacent, apathetic, pathetic, ill-gotten, belittling, obvious, dehumanizing, negligent, demeaning...etc etc. (plus much more) for racists and the "sell outs" in cahoots with them for this intentional act of defiance against Black people who helped shape and build this country!

You pick up Trash on the scheduled Thursday after a Federal JUNETEENTH HOLIDAY? How biased, callous, egregious and harmful are the actions of you and your "sell outs". It's the Thursday after 4th of July and you did not pick up the trash? How is that? You all without a moral compass did not pick up the trash after 4th of July, like you did during Juneteenth. Management, Director styles giving marching orders to their employees like you are dipping to greater lows. Just like that Celestine Pool the man died in at Yellow Stone National Park yea you know his name. So should your ways go under just like that. Your BIAS does not go unnoticed. Your moral compass has hit record lows since chattel and prison slavery. RESPECT the black citizens of this country and respect our holidays like we respect yours. You people should never continue to sleep at night. Constantly looking for someone to continue to bully and treat inhumanely with your egregious behavior that will one day become illegal and punishable. You constantly pretend to justify your actions as if we don't pay taxes, we have not been injured by this country, and don't vote and act as if we have not fought and died for this country along with your fathers, mothers, brothers, cousins, family members and friends too. We have more than paid our dues for this country and demand respect!

Refund
The amount of the refund owed us is $271.03 not the 27.03 shown in the review.

We sold our residence on April 1, 2022. We have a credit balance of $27.03. We told the refund could not be issued until after April 30. 2022. It is now June 20, 2022 and still no refund.

This morning my wife spoke to a lady in your “customer non service department”. She could not tell her when we could expect to receive a refund.

I find your business practices to be deceptive and untrustworthy.

Worst trash pick up co!
At this writing my trash is once again NOT picked up. Your service is terrible. You should start crediting customers at this point because now it is just outright thievery on your part. I’m paying for service I don’t get! Clean up your act. I don’t know who’s running the show there but we never had problems with WCA

Can't wait to get rid of them
GFL customer service is nonexistent. My trash pickup was missed...but they didn't care even after I called. They never replied to emails and never called me. When they don't pickup, they're stealing from us since we pay in advance. So, at the end of this billing period...THEY'RE GONE!

Over priced
Just received my next bill, There was about a 20 percent increase and a paper billing cost. I did not understand so called. Cust service explained the paper billing thing and credited account for this. She then proceeded to try and explain the billing increase which actually told me that the CEO and other executives don't want to lose any of there multi million dollar salaries because of material cost increases and driver salaries so customers will pay cost. Customers will also leave as I will do. I will go local which is where I started before they sold to WM. Sad world of greed.

NO Customer Service
You can’t reach a person by phone or by leaving a request online. No response whatsoever. This is unacceptable.

GFL is nightmare!
spent a month trying to sign up with their absolute horrible and completely brain dead customer reps, finally signed up...they charged us $120 including a very high "start up" fee. They explained that it would take 30 days to drop off cans but we can use our own cans in the meantime. They never picked up our garbage and again, impossible to get in touch with anyone at GFL. I finally reached a rep after hours of being on hold and demanding a refund, after a LOT of back and forth, she said she would close my account and I would get a credit after 8 WEEKS! I told her that wasn't acceptable and mentioned that I was going to leave a bad review. Once I mentioned the bad review she said I was threatening her and hung up on me. really lovely company :)

Charged X3 "Insufficient Funds" Fees
Nothing but horrible customer service experiences with this company. I'll preface that I have an ample amount of money in the accounts used for autopay. Even called my bank who declared that they never even received a charge from GFL so it was impossible that there was a returned payment for insufficient funds. They recently migrated all their systems so I am convinced there is a technical error within their computer systems. After 7+ calls to their "customer services" lines there is still no resolution. Considering smalls claims court at this point.

GFL neglects it's customers
I have had a broken can for over a month. When I first contacted GFL they told me to set my can out on May 26th. My can stayed at the end of my driveway from May 26th to June 18... through several emails and phone calls and many promises that someone would be by to pick it up and give me a new can. In my last correspondence, I was told once again it would be picked up, and I said if it did not happen I would need to cancel service. No one came yet again. I cancelled service and they got my can 1st thing the next morning. After over a decade as a customer, I wish they could've simply taken care of me and gotten me a replacement can. I don't understand how they could promise week after week and day after day to get it for over a month, then hours after I cancelled service, they got my broken can immediately. Very very disappointing. So it you are looking for a service that will honor their word, you don't want GFL.

Not a high level of service
I have been trying to get a trash cart replacement for 5 weeks! The top is broken off of my trash cart and I'm unable to use it because when it rains it fills with water. Meanwhile, I have been paying my bill for their service. I have notified my property manager about it. I have notified the trash collectors after following them down the road. Still no replacement has been issued. How can something as simple as a trash cart, which they must have thousands of be so difficult to replace?

I am due a refund over $500.
I built new house in Village of Oxford Mi
I was told a price when I gave gfl my address
I paid for many months if not a year
I found out I was not supposed to pay due to village of oxford taxes included gfl service
I called gfl 7 or 8 times over the last several months and still have not received the refund
I was told by them 844-464-3587 they did not have my address
That was not true .
4 calls later they wanted where to mail check.
I told them I have another account on Arns Ct 3080 Arns Ct oakland mi 48363 and mail it there.
this was the 4th time I gave my address.
They refused to give me a e mail ( finally got from tamara this e mail today.
Tamara said now after 6 or more months of trying,
after all that it was mailed end april.
I told her I want the check number because I did not get it and please show me .
She put me on hold.
she cam back said it takes 6-8 weeks to process be patient.
She gave me this e mail.
I waited on hold 20 min today.
Please respond with how I get my refund and when.

The WORST
Misses picking up at my residence once a month, refuses to reply to email messages sent or answer the phone, but expects to be paid on time.

GFl sanitation/Waste management
This is the worst customer service oriented company ever.
They miss your service day then you are inconvenienced for four more days with no
service
When you call the office you are hold waiting for someone to pick up for 30 minutes
when you do get an agent she has no customer service skills no concern with your issues

No ID Labels on the Dumpsters
I was going for a walk and saw that a dumpster was totally full. The trash was blowing into the road. I called the number on the bin, but found customer service completely unhelpful because they could not identify where the dumpster was - even with the street address. And perhaps more importantly, who's dumpster it was. Seeing the big green bin, I can say I'd never ask for service from this company until they start putting ID labels on there dumpsters.

No one answering the phones
I spent over half an hour on hold to schedule an additional pick up on one of my dumpsters today. This is completely unacceptable.

Dishonest
My previous trash pickup service was Curbside in Conyers, GA before GFL bought them. My rate went up but for the first few months, at least my service stayed the same. Curbside had provided two cans and picked them up weekly. GFL stated that my service would be changed at all and my rate would stay the same. However, they recently stopped picking up both cans. Customer service stated that they have me down for only 1 can and if I want 2 cans picked up I will have to pay more. In one email, the customer service person suggested that I am using a can that was already here when I moved in. This is a lie. The cans are exactly the same and both have Curbside (the company they bought out) printed on them. I offered to send pics of the two cans. Bottom line: to tell me my service will not change in writing, then change it and then accuse me of dishonesty regarding my second trash can is a sign of a company that should be avoided. GFL is, in my opinion, dishonest. Get yoir service elsewhere.
