Review: I had brought an evening gown by the Couture Designer Lanvin. to a dry cleaner to be cleaned. I have asked the owner to be sure she takes good care of it as there was a delicate part underneath. No problem I was answered. When I picked it up I had the bad surprise to see the red "tulle" that used to be stiff giving the dress some ballon effect completely flat. The black taffetas also was softened. Because the tulle part is not holding the bottom part, the dress has lost totally its character and beauty. It is just hanging down flat. I noticed it just by looking at the dress underneath the plastic film while I was in the store. I aske Ithe owner what happened. She said nothing; we cleaned it. I was said the dress was like that. I answered : I know my dress was not the one I see now ! I then looked at the cleaning instructions label and asked what was the symbol F as very often it would be a P. He replied he did not know. I search on my phone and see that the symbol means : Use petroleum solvent only. I then understood what happened to my very expensive Lanvin dress which is not wearable anymore ! They simply did not even read the label, and did not know what it means and sent it to wherever :::A professional cleaner should know how to read a label before dry clean a garment especially for an evening dress. The owner denied my complaint saying it is not their fault. I have known this place when there were a small Chinese cleaner. The place has been renovated and looks more professional but I wonder if the outside person who does the job even know there are some cleaning instructions. As a customer I would expect them to know to read a label. They did not.Desired Settlement: I want a reimbursement. I would provide an estimate from Lanvin based in Paris.

This letter is In response to complaint ID# [redacted]. In regards to the customers dress, the dress was brought to us in the exact condition that we returned it to her. When she brought the dress Info cleaning, the customer had said that the dress had been kept in her basement for a long period of time where the air was damp. This is the most likely reason the dress was flat. Therefore, we feel that we do not need to offer the customer any compensation as we simply cleaned the dress and returned it in the exact same condition that It was brought In.

We maintain that the dress was brought to us as Is and we returned It to the customer In the same condition as It was brought in Therefore we do not feel we need to file a claim with our insurance. We have said we would be open to speaking to the customer directly to see the problem and try to fix It.

It is an easy way out to deny their wrongdoing. For me to go back and see them will be useless as we both know there is nothing to do now. As far as the answer of the owner, he had given me his answer ( that the dress was in this condition !!!) when he was not even there when I brought it. It was I believe his wife . Do they have an insurance ? The truth is that they did not read the label because they did not know what the label meant. They should not be in that business. I am asking for them either to reimburse or to contact their insurance.
