Dear [redacted],This is in response to a complaint filed against our company on 1/20/17 assigned ID [redacted].Approximately 11:30 p.m. on January 10,2017, our company was dispatched to a police call of an accident involving a 2002 [redacted]. The driver who was on call that night could not even...

get to our garage from where he lived because of the severe ice storm, so the owner and veteran driver responded himself. When he arrived at the scene the police had called for the cinder truck to arrive because the icy conditions made it difficult to get to the vehicle which [redacted] slammed against a utility pole. There was no one at the scene of the accident to advise the driver to take it to any body shop. Therefore, it is company policy to take the vehicle back to our storage yard until we hear from the owner or insurance company. When she did finally call us, she called late after the yard was closed. We then advised her to calf us in the morning. We are a 24 hour emergency towing service, but the storage yard is open from 8:30 to 5. When [redacted] called back she said she was going to have her husband look at the vehicle to see if it was repairable or not. When [redacted] came down with his friend he was not denied access to the vehicle, I took him back into the storage lot to the vehicle where he and his friend opened the hood and looked underneath. [redacted] and his friend decided the car was too heavily damaged and he said he just fixed it due to a prior accident and he was not going to fix it again. He took a bottle of medicine out of the vehicle. I asked him what he took because we have to document items removed to save ourselves from getting accused of stealing them. He never asked if he can take pictures. I don't know what the reason I would have not to let him take pictures. After he left, [redacted] called me up and start yelling at me why I woutd not let him see the vehicle after I just came back into the office from being out there with him.We don't know where she got the figure of $600. The winching and towing was $175 and the storage was $50 per day which is the standard rate for most garages and body shops. She did not get us down to $325. The total would have been $439 but that was also towing it out to a residence on [redacted]. Jefferson twp. When I gave her this price she seemed filled with gratitude and was going to call me with a credit card for payment She never did. We did not tow it out so the bill was $325 and that is what was paid by the towing service she hired. [redacted] asked if we take [redacted] and I told her yes that f would need her [redacted] number to calf it in and I would have to find out if she was a basic or [redacted] plus member. She said she had to get it from her grandmother and [redacted] never called me back with that information. Mrs. Fitzgerald then proceeded to contact [redacted] to complain. [redacted] advised her of what we were charging she should be happy with, because it was certainly not out of line. They thought that was more than reasonable.I don't know what [redacted] is talking about who we lied to and what we lied about. Because of all of this the next thing we knew she was badgering us all over the internet trying to ruin our reputation of our company that has been in business since 1978. Our driver did not damage her vehicle while towing it either, and we did not ram-sack it.One of the investigating officers, Officer [redacted] came down to get Information. He found that the inspection sticker was expired and taped on with transparent tape and the insurance had lapsed on this vehicle as well. He currently has a citation on her for this because the car was illegal for the road.We are an emergency response team and we do our job to the best of our ability to clear roadways from the scene of an accident and make it safe for other motorist's. We have to say in the last 39 years we have never had to deal with a situation like this. This lady has been a menace to us since day one and we did not/' over charge her, damage her vehicle, lie to her, damage or ram-sack her interior, or try to scam her in anyway". That is not our way of doing business.I hope this letter of response will clear this up and go away once and for all so we can get back to normal of doing business without the stress and anxiety this lady has continually put our company through.Respectfully Yours,G & G Towing

Review: G&G towed our vehicle after an accident at the request of the State Police. During the tow, the vehicle was damaged further, making it unoperable. They agreed to pay $275 for the vehicle toward the total towing bill of $575. We asked for a bill, as this was being paid from a business account, and were subjected to verbal tirades and abuse. However, they did agree to send a bill, which we then promptly paid (check has been cashed and the title was sent). We asked for a receipt for payment that we can submit to our insurance company, simply showing the towing bill of $575, and enclosed a self-addressed stamped envelope. When we called today to ask why we had not received our receipt, we were again subjected to some yelling, and were told that they refused to give us a receipt. We cannot submit a claim without a paid receipt from them.Desired Settlement: We either want a receipt showing that we paid the $575 towing bill, or a refund of the $575.00.

Response:

I have explained to these people that I cannot give them a receipt that they paid us $575.00. Her bill was 575.00 we bought the car from her for 275.00. I did sent them a receipt/bill for 575.00 less 275.00 the cost of the car which they sold us. This is all I can do since they only paid us $300.00 did not pay us 575.00. This would be committing insurance fraud. They can summit the receipt to the insurance company that I gave them.

As for the damage to the vehicle We did not damage the vehicle, the damage was due to the impact of the accident. These people were not even here, their son was driving the car. They have not a clue what the car looked like at the accident scene. They live out of state somewhere. So I cannot see where they can put the blame on us for damage.

As far as the yelling, she was one yelling at me demanding a receipt for 575.00. She only paid us 300.00 so she did not like my response to her so she was the one yelling at me. I finally hung up on her because I couldn’t take any more of her abuse. We are a respectable business here for over 35 years and I intend to do my best to keep it that way.

Response:

Actually, she talked with my husband and refused to give him a receipt, not me. They did indeed give us a bill - all we were asking for was a receipt that we had in fact paid. She does not seem to understand the difference between a bill and a paid receipt. The professionalism of this business is sadly lacking, and we definitely could not recommend them to anyone. We will just deal with this here - thanks.

Business

Response:

Actually NO, I talked to her first then her husband. So that is a lie right there. I see she didn’t respond about the damage because she was not at the scene of the accident. As I explained before they can use the bill I gave them for their receipt all the had to do was right their check number on it. Any towing company would not want to deal with anyone who tries to lie about damage done to their vehicle and they would not want to deal with anyone who wants a receipt for money they did not. Pay.

Consumer

Response:

All that we had asked for was a receipt showing that the towing bill had been settled. We were not asking anyone to lie, nor does the insurance company care whether it was paid for partially in cash and partially in trade. We gave up on trying to get this from them, and just explained the situation to the insurance company, who was more than happy to pay our towing claim.

As far as we are concerned, we were able to deal with what we needed, but it would have been so much simpler if they could have just given us the receipt we had asked for, showing that the towing bill had been settled.
