Regards,
[redacted] I just read the response from the owner of the shop and it is completely untrue. I brought the watch to him after having received it back from the manufacturer for a replacement of the crystal which had been scratched. I had ordered a custom made strap and wanted him to simply put the new strap on the watch. I NEVER told him the watch had been in repair due to timing issues.  As a matter of fact as part of the repair process, the watch had been checked over the course of 3 days and regulated. For 3 weeks, each am I checked the watch against an atomic clock for accuracy and it constantly ran at +2 seconds. The gentleman did NOT drop the watch "on the band," he dropped it from chest height with no band on it, on to a tile floor. He was not even doing the work on a bench with a padded area like every other jeweler I have ever seen. While it's true there was no visible damage to the watch, I discovered over the course of the next few days that the timing had started to drift. I brought it back to him when it was clear there was something wrong as the watch was now running at -9 seconds and seemed to be getting worse. That is when he started telling me about how other watches run up to 20 seconds or more fast or slow and it was no big deal. The watch continued to lose time to the point where it was running at -30 seconds a day which the manufacturer told me was outside of their accepted performance of +15 to - 10 seconds per day and told me to send the watch back in for repair. I did so and showed the owner of the shop the receipt for $$102 that I just paid to have the watch shipped back. He admitted to me he dropped the watch and said to let him know what they said when they received the watch back and that he would "do the right thing." His response is shocking to me as he either has a bad memory or is lying in his response. At this time, the wait for the watch to be examined is 6 to 8 weeks from the day they receive it.

Review: I brought an expensive watch in to have a new strap put on and he dropped the watch from chest level on to a hard linoleum floor. He did not do the work sitting at a padded table. The watch is now broken. I called and went in to see him and he not only refused to take any responsibility, he turned his back on me and walked away. It took me years of saving to purchase this watch and now it's broken.Desired Settlement: They have a responsibility to replace the watch or pay for the repair including shipping back to the vendor in The United Kingdom. Being a fine time piece the vendor has a 5 year warranty which is voided if anyone other than the vendor opens the watch and attempts a repair. Only they can do the work or I forfeit the remainder of my warranty (4 years left)
