Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention. We do not have any record of this consumer under this name, email address, or phone number in our Customer Relationship Management database. This consumer has been identified as fraudulent...

with our peer Consumer Packaged Goods companies, and he has a history of fraudulent complaints dating back to 2009. This consumer has five other known identities in addition to his current identity. These identities have been tied together by the same address ([redacted] XXXXX) with slight variations to the apartment number.
With the information that was given by the consumer, the chocolate he claims to have purchased was only available for sale at a club store (i.e. Costco, Sam's Club, or BJ's). If there was an issue with three bags of the chocolate he purchased, a club store would have most likely refunded him for his purchases as well as provide him with a log of his purchases. Complaints involving more than one large item require proof of purchase in the form of a receipt, per Ghirardelli policy. We do not have any current recalls on our products, nor have we had any recalls at the time of his alleged complaint three months ago. Furthermore, the product this consumer has reported (SKU XXXXX) was marked for discontinuation/obsolesce on January 1, 2015.
Ghirardelli Chocolate Company has been manufacturing fine chocolates for over 160 years. We take great pride in delivering world-class, premium chocolate products to the consumer. We will not be reaching out to this consumer or have any further interaction with him in the future due to his proven record of fraudulent complaints.

I am a woman not a "He" and I just moved here this complex has 10 buildings 14 floors 8 units per floor. Company has made a claim which is erroneous and is leading.
Just becoming aware of company history of is handling of poor product is not uncommon
furthermore after reading this I discovered the following below

Class Members of the Ghirardelli class action settlement include anyone in the United States who purchased, except for purposes of resale, certain allegedly mislabeled Ghirardelli products between Aug. 17, 2008 and Oct. 2, 2014. A complete list of the products is available here.
Potential Award
Class Members who submit valid Claim Forms will receive $1.50 for each bag of Ghirardelli White Chips and $0.75 for any of the other eligible Ghirardelli products purchased between Aug. 17, 2008 and Oct. 2, 2014.
The total recovery per household will be limited to $24, unless the purchases are corroborated by proof of purchase. There will be no limit on the total recovery for items for which proof of purchase is submitted.
The actual amount each Class Member will receive may be reduced depending on how many valid Claim Forms are submitted.
Proof of Purchase
None required. However, Class Members who do not submit proof of purchase will only be eligible to receive up to $24, while there is no cap on the total recovery for purchases corroborated by proof of purchase, such as an itemized sales receipt.

Thank you for your response. As previously stated, we do not have any record of this consumer under this name, email address, or phone number in our Customer Relationship Management database. Complaints involving more than one large item require proof of purchase in the form of a receipt, per Ghirardelli policy. A receipt is necessary for any further action to be taken, per Ghirardelli policy. If a receipt is not available, the chocolate she claims to have purchased was only available for sale at a club store (i.e. Costco, Sam's Club, or BJ's). Club stores are able to provide a log of purchases, which will suffice for the receipt requirement.

The complaint that was made to the Revdex.com involved three bags of 55 Squares, which were not included in the White Chip Settlement. Furthermore, the deadline to file a claim for this settlement was on 3/19/2015. Please see below for more information regarding this settlement:
Ghirardelli was sued by two consumers who say they were confused or misled by descriptive language on certain product packaging. The complaining consumers do not claim, however, that the statement of ingredients on our packaging is incorrect. In fact, Ghirardelli's products and packaging fully comply with all FDA and other regulatory requirements. Ghirardelli stands behind the accuracy and integrity of our labeling and marketing.

No need to keep gong back and forth receipt and appropriate upcs were sent as per what is required by the company however their failure to receive is not of my own. usps has been of recently not the reliable source as once known but that another issues for someone else to explore I just know as so many when you drop letter in postal box that normally is sufficient if in the future company policy become send certify mail and company will reimburse than the average consumer would be glad to comply Please note company was unwilling to satisfactory please consumer and only after exploring the USDA and internet did I discover there was other issues that company now admit too yet they initial statement was they were perfect and had no issues from anyone
