From: *** *** Sent: Friday, June 23, 10:AM To: [email protected] Subject: Complaint: *** I am sorry to hear that *** *** had a problem with his *** Trimmer. He stated when he brought it in that he could not pull the starter rope out.
This problem was caused by the fuel in the cylinder turning to varnish and causing the piston to stick to the cylinder. The inside of the engine was brown in color and coated with this varnish. The only way this can happen is from the fuel. The fuel that we are getting from the fuel pump today contains ethanol, this is mandated by the government. Ethanol fuel has a shelf life of only days. *** cannot do anything about the fuel that is being used. *** WILL NOT WARRANTY ANY FUEL RELATED ISSUES. We are recommending the use of non-ethanol fuel in machines that are not being used often or for storage of machines over thirty days. We try to educate people to run their machines out of ethanol fuel and to put non-ethanol fuel in it and run it for minutes. Non-ethanol fuel is available at various outlets including our store. I wish that *** *** had talked to me about his problem, because I would have been happy to work something out with him. We have been in business for years and we try to take care of our customers. As a good will gesture I am sending *** *** a refund for his last repair
