Review: Giant siding completed installation of siding this past fall. After the installation we noticed that our sunroom ceiling was leaking. We had our either roof removed and replaced. We again noticed leaking into the sunroom, but the roof stated that it was not the roofing system but the siding. The roofer had placed a rubber membrane up the side of the exterior wall by the sunroom's flat roof area. The roofer stated was able to find the source of the leak which was the siding. The siding was placed in straight line and not staggered like the rest of the home's siding. I called the Giant and did not get a return call until one week later. I talked to [redacted] and was assured that he will have someone come to look at the issues, pending good weather. Today the service tech from Giant, came by and stated that it was the roof. I am renovating the area where the leak is and found a 1 x 16 inch hold, all the area is damp and mold is developing. Giant had agreed to repair all areas that were damaged before applying the siding. Today after a heated discussion, [redacted] of Giant, stated that since we owe him money that he will come and remove all the siding from the house.Desired Settlement: I would like the area repaired and the damaged caused by the leaking repaired by another contractor and for giant to pay for the repairs. I don't feel safe to have this company come to my house to repair my house

The business has responded. Please see below:Giant siding and windows executed a contract with [redacted] and his wife [redacted] to install new siding for $19,500.00. On the first day of work we collected a deposit check for $4000. We finished the job within a couple of days. The deposit check bounced, and [redacted] then explained to me he didn't have the money to pay for the job. At that time, we had a lawyer write an agreement that [redacted], And [redacted] would make a monthly payment of $1291.67 until the total price of the job was paid in full. [redacted] then continued to bounce checks. He failed to make a January payment, and failed to make his February payment. Though he did call for service in late January, due to cold weather we could not come out to until mid February Though [redacted] did not have the money to pay his obligated amount to GIANT SIDING AND WINDOWS, nor did his credit score allow for any type of financing, he had the money to hire a roofer. We saw that the Roofer had taken down our siding panels in order to run the rubber membrance up the wall, (which is the correct way to install the membrane) however the roofer failed to re install the siding properly. Because we installed Portsmouth shake siding, the idea of seams lining up improperly is fraudulent, and we offered to meet the roofer at the house to explain this issue had nothing to do with GIANT. Furthermore, [redacted] has Ice Damning all around his house, like most of Westchester and is getting leaking from the ice. [redacted] is delinquent over 60 days in the amount of $2582 , and still owes $16,148 of the original $19,500. We have sent a notification and according to the agreement he signed he must pay the total balance of $16148 within 30 days. [redacted] did threaten to shoot me with his " 9 mm" pistol if he ever saw me near his property. Though we did file a police report , we turned down the officers suggestion to have him arrested for aggravated assault. We do plan on exercising all legal rights in pursuit of the balance. In summary, [redacted]s roof was leaking for years. He hired a roofing company who damaged our siding, and failed to re install it properly. He is using ice daming and previous damage as a reason not to pay for the Siding we already installed for him. Our offer to meet the roofer at the house with [redacted] to explain where the damage/leak is coming from still stands, despite his failure to pay for the job.
