Review: I towed my car to Gibraltar Transmission on the morning of January **, 2014. I was told through the phone that the car can be fixed by paying $1800. Once the car arrived at Gibraltar Transmission, they discovered that the roman value body was broken and requested $500 more for it to be fixed. Totaling $2300 with a one year/12,000 miles warranty.

I picked up my car on January **,2014. I noticed that the engine service light (P1759/P1764) was on, indicating that there was still a problem in the car, I reported the problem to the shop. I was told that the engine service light (P1759/P1764) being on is not related to the transmission that was being fixed. On the same day, I drove for approximately 50 miles (2-3 hours) and the car broke down on the highway.

On the next day, January **, 2014, I called the tow truck but the towing was not available until the following day due to Chinese New Year many employees were not working.

The car was towed on February *, 2014

I contacted Gibraltar Transmission 3 days after it was towed to check on the progress of the car and I was told that it would be fixed by the fourth day (February *, 2014).

On February *, 2014 I went to pick up my car but was told that it was still not fixed.

I contacted Gibraltar Transmission again 3 days after the first visit and was told again that it would be fixed by the fourth day (February *, 2014) . So as follow, I went to pickup my car on the fourth day but it was not fixed again.

The same situation happened again (February **, 2014), only this time they requested another payment of $300 for towing and $425 for additional parts/labors. Before I made this payment, I asked them if this time it would be fixed with guarantee. In return they said that they would guarantee that with this payment the car will be fixed. In addition, my car was nowhere to be seen every time I came until February **, 2014, the day I was asked to make this payment.

I kept in contact with Gibraltar Transmission for the next 15 days. In between those 15 days, I called to check on the car every 3 days. Every time I called for confirmation they would say "not yet...maybe tonight or tomorrow it'll be done"

On February **, 2014, they finally confirmed that the car was fixed so I went to go pickup the car. I drove the car around the block and the car was not working properly so I drove it back to the shop. I called back 2 days later and spoke to the [redacted]. The [redacted] said he needed to charge me again. I questioned why I needed to pay since I already paid the first time which includes a one year warranty. The [redacted] replied "Don't talk to me on the phone like this. If you want to talk to me come down to the shop."

On March **, 2014, we went down to the shop and spoke with the [redacted]. The [redacted] said there was no charge but I told the [redacted] that the [redacted] said there was a charge. After hearing what I said, the [redacted] now claimed that there is a charge.

Seeing how the [redacted] handled the situation unprofessionally I couldn't trust the shop anymore. I decided to take the car and I asked the [redacted] for the car key. The [redacted] refused to give the key so I called the police then the [redacted] asked me to come back in fifteen minutes to get the car key. The [redacted] started an argument regarding how the car's problem was not their fault but mine's. It was not possible for the car's problem to be my fault since the car was never in my hand. Every single time I came to get the car, there was not once where the car worked properly (the engine service light was on every time). In the end the [redacted] stated that he will no longer fix the car and to go ask the judge to fix the car for me. Considering that there was a one year warranty, it should be guaranteed that the car would be fixed disregarding who broke the car; either way Gibraltar Transmission should be responsible for fixing the car.Desired Settlement: I think the business has a responsibility to refund all money from repairs, towing, and labor time.

Review: In September of 2014 I contacted a phone number from a website that guaranteed to fix my transmission. I was quoted a price of $3400 and for another $100 a lifetime warranty on parts and labor as long as I had the car. Car was picked up on 09/**/2014. I went ahead and got a loan from my retirement and made sure they got the money. Supossedly the car was fixed in less than a week and was told to pick it up, of which I did on 09/**/2014. In less than a few days the car still wasnt working properly. Took it back to Gibraltar Transmissions and they claimed that the problem was the rear hanger bearer for the drive shaft. Was told this was going to cost me $150. I went ahead and took their word for it. Before bringing it in to get this done I wanted to confirm the price and was told again $150. At the completion of the job I was told it would cost $300 and was never told of the labor cost. I paid for the repair anyway and went on my way. The car was still acting up for the next few months. I needed the car to work because I traveled to different worksites. On 01/**/2015 I was taking my daughter to her afterschool activity and before I could even get there the car stopped and wouldnt accelarate. Tempratures was extremely cold leaving her and my wife to walk. Called Gibraltar and let them know the situation and wanted them to come and get it towed back to them, which was part of the warranty. They claimed that their trucks were being inspected and they couldn't come get it, so I called a tow truck company to have it towed the next day for $300. They had the car for 19 days before I actually picked it up on 02/**/2015. During the whole time I kept contacting them to see the status of the car. I was told each time that they needed more time. In less than a couple days the car stalled going up the hill of my residence. At this point I had enough. Lost jobs because the car was my way of getting to the worksites. I let them know the car acted up again and requested I bring it in. I had no money for a tow truck, the jobs I was losing was my only income at the time and to top it off I wouldn't have the car for my daughter's birthday. I had a lot to do that week to make sure everything went well for her. So I had to borrow money to rent a car that week.

The final result was I went to Gibraltar transmissions in [redacted] on 02/**/2015, where the car was checked and the so called rebuilt transmission was so damaged that to get it rebuild would cost $4800 and about a months time to make sure they were able to get all the parts in good condition. I was also recommended to do the Remanufacturered transmission which gave me a 3 year warranty. I chose the remanufacturered which cost me $5400 of which I had to take out another loan from my retirement. I got the car back on 03/**/15 and have been driving the car ever since with no troubles. Im only requesting the $3500 that I paid to have the transmission fixed.Desired Settlement: I would like to get a full refund of $3500 that I paid to get it fixed and for Gibraltar transmissions to understand that they had the opportunity to fix my car right the first and they failed all 3 times. I want to settle out of court where I could be entitled $5000. I had to pay $1500 more for unnessary repairs, towing, car rental and other cost due to not having the car.

Review: On 3/**/2015 I took my 2005 chrysler 300c hemi to Gibraltar Transmissions [redacted]. I spoke to [redacted] who said to see [redacted] the manager, [redacted] looked the car over and told me that there was some codes that came up and the transmission have to be rebuilt. I was quoted a price of $1688 which we both agreed upon and I sign the contract agreeing to the above price. I recieved a call on Wednesday 3/**/15 stating the price is now $3000 due to the nature of the transmission. I replied the contract price is $1688 which I signed. I was told you signed the contract and the caller hung the phone up. I went to retrive my car after the phone call and spoke with [redacted] who said the car is finish and the total owed is $3000. I replied no down paymet or exchange of money was left. I was told I could not get my car until the $3000 is paid. I did not authorized any additional repairs nor recieved a call from the repair shop stating that additional work neded to be done. As stated in the contract: Shop is responsible for giving you your exact price before any repairs are started. A parts deposit is required once we determine which parts you need we get a deposit before parts are ordered.Desired Settlement: I want the repair shop to honor the quoted price as signed in the contract regardless of the additional repairs.

Review: Subject is a 2004 Mini Cooper... on August ** 2015 I went on a website claiming it could rebuild my Mini coopers transmission, [redacted] , was told by a person named Ray on this site the cost would be 1800.00 plus cost of fluid, I told him the car had a CVT trans (automatic) and he said yes no problem. Tow truck sent to my house on August ** 2015. Upon arrival driver informed me car was going to the said shop in complaint, Gibraltar Transmissions in [redacted] and price was 1800.00 right on the contract driver wanted me to sign. Called number from website above and spoke to RAY again because he originally told me car was going to one of his garages in Edison NJ. He explained to me it had to go to the garage in Queens because thats where HIS BEST MECHANICS were to deal with my problem. Ok signed paper and car went on truck. Two days later got a call saying trans was shot and they would rebuild but price was now 4800.00 total. Told him no way I signed paper for 1800.00 and couldnt afford more. Ray proceeded to have a screaming match with me telling me tough [redacted] I signed contract and should have read fine print better. After a back and forth we decided on 4000.00 if I paid cash and he would wave the TAXES. Ok needed car so agreed. Got a call on Sept * 2015 that car was finished come get it at 2pm on Sept * 2015. Arrived at 2 pm on Sept * 2015 to find a young guy sitting in car playing with his phone. Went into office and met Steve the shop manager, he told me they werent done programing it yet give him and hour. Came back at 3pm and he was just walking to car with paper work. Paid him in cash and left the shop. once on highway where I could go more than 40 mph discovered car was worse than when I dropped it off. immediately called shop, Steve told me to pull over some where and shut car off for a few minutes and it should reset itself, if not bring it back on Sept * because shop would be closed for the holiday. On Sept * 2015 I had car towed back to Gibraltar by AAA. After a few days was told its a program/computer problem that they had to order the program so they could reset. Again this went on for another week or two. Got another call finally in mid October car was ready again. Picked up car and same results as I got to highway so before taking back car AGAIN I took to a Certified BMW shop who put car on its computer. Car had NO warning, program issues what so ever in fact was told car had latest and greatest program and the trans was leaking fluid, Yes I have documentation and witnesses, so back car went to Gibraltar. The following week Steve offered me a rental car, so took ride to their rental car place in Queens. Upon arriving there was told by Enterprise agent I had to put up a credit card and be responsible for entire payment and that Gibraltar would have to refund me the money, all the time the girl was smiling and almost laughing openly. She finally told me she had same situation three months earlier and Gibrlatars owner refused to refund the client, another words BEWARE. So taking that advise I refused rental car. Finally after calls to shop every three days I was told now that they have found the problem that my cayalytic convert was no good and causing car not to shift correctly, COMICAL to say least. Steve said he would get back to me on a price to replace part. When he called me back he said and I quote " car is running great now but we had to do some funky [redacted] to the catalytic convert and price for new one was 1100.00. I said not gonna happen he said ok I can come take car its running right but I wouldnt be able to pass inspection now, WHAT, I NEVER gave them permission to touch the catalytic converter. Pick up car and of coarse car still not shifting correctly and check engine light was on which had never been on for as long as I owned the car. Called Mini Copper dealer and the BMW shop and both laughed when I told them Gibraltar is now claiming my problem is all being caused by the bad Catalytic converter. NO WAY was the response from both, that I was being scammed. Took car to independent repair shop to check catalytic converter, looks as if Gibraltar took it off and gutted it out and returned it to car, in process breaking the bracket and welding back on, also mechanic noticed the seals on the transmission looked old not new, which they should be if trans was taken apart and is suspicious to if it was even touched. I called Steve the manager at Gibraltar on Nov [redacted] 2015 and told him car still wasn't right. His response was "I told you its catalytic converter, have it replaced and then I will go from there". After the length of time and run around I have gotten from Gibraltar, and from the advice from experts on the car I can only conclude in the end this was a huge scam and the people at Gibraltar don't have a clue which forces me to file this complaint and seek a refund of some sort either by the means of the Revdex.com or by the courts.Desired Settlement: Seeking a refund of my repair cost due to incompetent work and potential fraud which will be pursued if need be
