Review: Gibraltar transmissions was going out of business. the company was advertising free towing and loaner cars which they had neither. The company had my car from June ** through the 3rd week in July. I paid them 1,500 to replace my transmission. They put a bad transmission in my car and took my money they gave me a 12 month 12,000 mile warranty on the transmission. The same day I picked the car up I called back and told them the the car was not working correctly. The [redacted] and [redacted] told me to bring the van back, so they could do the repairs. When I went back to the shop is when I fount out that the shop was closing and there was nowhere for me to take the car to get it repaired properly. I have receipts and pictures for everything.Desired Settlement: I am a single mother of two and I am currently high risk pregnancy. I don't have extra money to pay out another 1,500 on the transmission again. I would like to get my money back, so I can take the van to another shop to get the repairs done correctly. I

Review: I purchased a used motor for my 2005 Hyundai xg350l from this shop and was given a Six month warranty. I was told to pick up this car on 3/**/2014 because it was done. The following day the check engine light came on and that is when the issues started. I have returned to this shop every weekend since the week of the ** of March and the check engine light is still on. I have been given every excuse under the sun and as of today April **,2014 the check engine light is still on. The car was in the shop on April **,2014. I drove home and the check engine light came back on. Guarantee of Warranty is violated by this establishment. A failure to honor service under the terms of warranty is being violated at this establishment. The failure to provide documentation for every shop request to repair the same issue. I believe this establishment is just taking customers money and providing shady, inferior service. I suspect there are many other customers who have complaints and have not come forward. Something must and should be done. This establishment should be seriously investigated.Desired Settlement: I want this car fixed. I want this car to go to a reputable shop and I want this shop to pay for the service. If they can't fix it, I will bring it where it can be fixed but they must pay the bill.

Review: first visitI took my car to Gibraltar to get my transmission fixed. They had a look at it and explain to me what needed to be fixed. After a week I picked up my car and a few days later my transmission started to slip. There was also a delay when I change from drive to reverse and a flare when I step on the gas. second visit (about a month later)I took my car back since it was under warranty to get fixed. about 3 days later I got my car back and when I test drive the car I was fine. After about 2 days since I had it fixed the car transmission began to slip and the delay was still there. third visit (about a month later)I took my car back the 3rd time this week and just got it back and I am still experiencing the same problem. they told me that they changed a sensor however the issue was not fix.Desired Settlement: All I want is my car to be fix and not have to worry about taking it back. Im tired of having to take my car back and being left without a car. Im also worried about what will happen after my warranty is up. I don't think they can fix the issue on the car because I cant understand why im taking my car back for the 3rd time and its not being fixed. Its either they refund my money and I take it to get fixed somewhere else, so they pay someone else to fix the problem.

Response:

At this time, I have not been contacted by Gibraltar Transmissions regarding complaint ID [redacted].

Sincerely,

Review: I drove my car (Toyota sienna) there to check transmission issue, the owner noticed me that the labor to fix the issue not including parts, will around 600 . After he check, he try to convince me that I have to buy a new transmission around 2800 dollar, I don't want to buy and want my car back, so I can go to other place to respire, he asked me to pay additional more then 1000 dollar besides the 600 dollar. It's not acceptable.Desired Settlement: I want my car back, still drivable as the time when I sent the car there, I can only pay reasonable labor
