Deceptive Sales Practices - product web page does not indicate item is non-returnable - brand new, in unopened box and they will not return -$ I purchased a Viking life raft from this company in good faithNOWHERE on the product sales page is there anything mentioned about this $item not being returnableA fact that should be highlighted in big bold red text, however there is nothing, not even in fine printI purchased the life raft and paid for it in full, with no issuesI knew measurements for the life raft container and thought the identified storage space on my boat would accommodate it fine, however it did fit but was just too hard to get in and out, which is a major problem for deploying a life raft in an emergency situation Before the day, guaranteed return policy interval was up, I emailed Charlene Bodette who had contacted me during the shipping process and asked her if she could provide me with instructions on how to return the life raft as it was still in

Friendly folks but, I post a review on there site and it never showed upI called and asked why and was told reviews are handled by a third party ( great just gave my name, email and sales order # to a third party )After a bunch of back a fourth I explained it's more than a little concerning working with an online retailer that doesn't control there web siteThe manger respond that they have "total control" of there web siteA bit annoyed by this double talk I asked how the site could be both ran by third party's which are apparently unreachable for quick answers yet be in "total control" of there site there was no satisfactory answer givenAlso they refused to communicate via email

I recently purchased a Garmin Fenix GPS watch from The GPS StoreThis is perhaps the fourth or fifth purchase I have made from them over the yearsI couldn't be more pleased with the experienceI have always found their prices to be the lowest I can findMore importantly their customer service has always been outstandingMore than once they have recommended a unit other than the one I intended to order that has served my needs better and sometimes at a lower price than I originally budgeted as was the case with the Fenix I do not hesitate to recommend The GPS Store, it's refreshing to deal with a merchant that provides such personalized service in this day and age of point and click

I have dealt with The GPS Store for many years and I can say that not only do they have good prices and a good selection marine electronics, they are helpful in what I chose to buy and how those recommendations work out{ Notice the stars above } I have asked for help even down to the bare wiring instructions and have never been sent in the wrong direction Nobody is perfect and once they sent me Navionics charts instead the I needed I sent the other one back (the charts are pretty expensive) and they were appropriately pleased and thankful...!
They know their products and charge reasonable prices and are helpful in telling you pulses and minuses of their various offerings It doesn't get much bette than this, at least where I shop You will not go wrong with these folks

No problem we will send you a new one "No hassle, no run around, just polite fast courteous service You can buy from these people with confidence that they will stand behind what they sell and provide fast and polite serviceReally nice to see a business conduct itself this wayA business is not judged by what they do when everything is good but how they treat you when something goes wrongThese people are of the highest character !!

I started a running training program that required a running watch with heart rate monitoring and GPS capability You wouldn't think that a company with a focus on marine electronics could assist in this search but that is exactly what I found The GPS Store after all is focused on GPS regardless of the make, model, or need so in the future I will keep them in mind regardless of GPS needs
The website was helpful with Garmin model comparisons but I still had questions I called the main line twice and found both conversations extremely helpful in my decision making They were both courteous, knowledgeable, and willing to take the time to talk through the Pros and Cons of different models I ended up selecting the Garmin Forerunner Music and the product has exceeded my expectations The watch shipped and arrived promptly and undamaged Overall a great experience from cradle to grave so I thought I'd share my experince

I recently documented a transaction involving a purchase from The GPS StoreI had issues with payment for an expedited shipping that never happened
I also had issues with the response(s) from the Customer Service contact provided via emailSo I posted an appropriate review documenting this in more detail
After emails from me, and my initial posting on this site, I received an email advising the extra money I paid for shipping, would be funded in a few business days
I was contacted via telephone by a different employee of The GPS Store who wasn't nearly as dismissiveShe was familiar with the shipping issue being a problem and the review
She was actually very professional
I advised her of my intent to revise this review
I also thought it only fair to maintain honesty and tell her my review would reflect facts and an appropriate rating
If it hadn't taken emails, and the review I posted to receive the refund, I'd rate them a little higher
