In November 2013, Giffenson Plumbing received a call from Ms. [redacted] regarding a water service leak. I was currently out of town and I called [redacted]. an on-call plumber I use when I am busy or out of town. [redacted]. went out to Ms. [redacted] residence and met with her and gave her an estimate for...

replacing the water service line. She agreed and gave [redacted] a deposit . [redacted] returned to the residence the next day and proceeded to trench the water service line(Which was not deep enough). After trenching [redacted] installed 211 F** of  1 1/4 Pex Water Service line(Which was under sized and had no tracer wire).[redacted] completed job and received final payment from Ms. [redacted]. Seven months later in June 2014, I received a call from Ms. [redacted] and she stated that she had another plumber out at her residence and that he was removing rocks and gravel from all her fixtures in her home(I found this hard to believe that so many rocks and gravel could pass through a pressure regulator valve, water softener and water heater and go to both hot and cold sides of every fixture in the house) She also mentioned that her new plumber had dug up the water service line that [redacted] installed in various sections and that the water line was undersized and not deep enough and that she wanted to meet with me and her new plumber. We set an appointment date and we all met. At this meeting I offered Ms. [redacted] two options, first option was to refund her money or the second option was for me to correct the water service line, Ms. [redacted] chose for Giffenson Plumbing to correct the water service line, have her landscaper dig it and not to back fill the trench so her new plumber could see if the work performed was done correctly. The following day I had her landscaper trench the ditch and I personally returned the next day and installed 211 Ft of 1 1/2 of Pex Water Service line with sleaving  and tracer wire. When I cut the 1 1/4 Pex water service line down by the meter I got no gravel or rocks, however I did get some water softener resin and then I spoke to a reliable third party and he told me that a day or two before our meeting her plumber installed the water softener backwards. I tried to explain to Ms. [redacted] when she called me what happens when water softeners are installed backwards and she did not want to hear it from me and insisted it was gravel and rocks throughout her house.  So I proceeded to fix all the mistakes that [redacted] made completed the job and thought all had been corrected and was good until 4 months later in October 2014 when I received this complaint. I recently spoke to a [redacted] representative and said it was highly unlikely that so much gravel and rocks could pass through the regulator without stopping it up. My professional opinion is the problem was caused by the water softener being installed backwards and the other plumber needs to blame someone. In regards to [redacted] and him texting Ms. [redacted] I honestly believe has nothing to do with the water service line being installed improperly and more to deface my business, I am not aware of what [redacted] does in his personal life/own time and  when Ms. [redacted]  reported this to me, I terminated [redacted]immediately and he has never or will never work for Giffenson Plumbing again. I did and still do apologize to Ms. [redacted] for sending a plumber with such poor work ethic. I have been a plumber for 24 years and have been in  business for 6 years and not once have I ever had a complaint and if the work was not  performed up to par per the customer, I have always corrected the issue... in this case Ms. [redacted] chose for me to do that and again I thought it was up to her standards until I received this complaint four months later. I believe in Excellent Customer Service and Good Workmanship and I do apologize again for Giffenson Plumbing only living up to one of the two.

Thank you,

Review: I had a lateral water line (water main from meter to home) rupture. Giffenson Plumbing was contracted to repair the damaged line. However, in the course of repair, they failed to back flush the line resulting in gravel damage to my water softener, ceramic plumbing fixtures and contamination of my household water. Additionally, there were numerous code violations with the initial repair and they failed to install a new ball valve to the water line as quoted. Unfortunately, the owner of the company ([redacted]) has used very disrespectful words and tone in prior communication with me and employed someone that sent me a text message requesting me to "get him some [redacted] ([redacted])", then followed it up with an apology -- that he intended that text for someone else named.Desired Settlement: A: Pay for my additional plumbing damages as direct result of:

1. failure to meet minimum workmanship standards

2. failure to complete services as promises

3. failure to supervise an employee.

B: Issue a statement of apology for failure to comply with professional standards of workmanship and disrespectful behavior directed toward a customer.

Driving along the frontage on the 101 just past the 17 one of this companies employees was driving too fast and not paying attention to traffic. The cars in front of him were slowing down to turn into an apartment complex and he did not. This irresponsible person cut me off and drove me into the embankment of the freeway. When I honked to show my displeasure he then flipped me off and sped up even more. If this is the type of people they have representing their business then they should be ashamed of themselves.
