To Whom It May Concern,

The primary reason for this level of complaint is because I personally contacted and visited this business looking for a resolution on more than one occasion. There never was an understanding with the owner of Gigi Hair. However, it was in my best interest to reach out to the business since I did not receive what I paid for. I do live outside of New York, so coming back in-person to this shop was a great inconvenience, an investment of time and money with the outcome being further frustration.

I have only been to this establishment on three occasions; two times prior to this past visit. Purchasing hair is an investment and I only went approximately every 9 months to purchase new hair. I have always purchased 3 ounces. The amount of hair I purchased every time has always been the same. I do have past receipts and the business has that information on file; files that were referred to with this last purchase. Therefore their claim that the amount of hair purchased varied is totally false.

The concern was never the color and has always been the amount of hair I paid for. The hair never was “weighed” and there are cameras in the establishment which apparently monitor the activity of the shop. Therefore, through those means, it can be seen that the hair was never weighed in front of me. The color, style, pattern of the highlights are all irrelevant factors in the “amount” of hair that I purchased and are baseless defenses as to why I didn’t get what I paid for. On two prior occasions, I received the same amount of hair and this past purchase was significantly less. To strengthen my argument, I even came back to the shop with the last purchase and receipt to demonstrate the significant difference.

Prior to making this past purchase, I contacted the shop and was assured that the availability of the hair and amount would not be an issue. I contacted the shop to ensure that I wasn’t making the trip an hour from out of state for a purchase that wouldn’t be readily available. Sales reps there did contact me regarding a sale as well. The owner later told me that this information was not correct. Therefore, I am left to question the expertise, professionalism, and knowledge (or their lack of) by their staff, as I obviously received conflicting information (i.e. availability, pricing). Their claim is that the hair market is competitive and therefore making it difficult to keep hair in stock. I do believe they did not have enough hair to satisfy the order and used the little they had shorting me on the order (an order which took over 2 hours to fulfill-a dubious amount of time). *I am aware of the process since I have been buying hair for 8 years now.

The only consolation I have is that there are other complaints regarding their business practices. I refer the business to “filed Revdex.com Complaint 4/**/2013”. Ironically enough, that complaint is strikingly similar to this matter, leading me to conclude that this is a pattern and a reputation that precedes this shop. Generating such a complaint is time-consuming and therefore I do believe most individuals choose not to follow through with this process. However, I am exercising that right because I invested a considerable amount of money on the hair (close to $300.00) and under no circumstances received what I paid for. Unfortunately, their small business has a combative and indifferent approach to resolutions resulting in losing customers.

RESOLUTION:

I am seeking reimbursement of $100.00 (satisfying the ounce I did not receive).
