sans-serif;">Mr. & Mrs. [redacted] Dear Mr. & Mrs. [redacted]: On behalf of Gild-N-Son Manufacturing & Sales, I would like to address the problem with the trim on your windows, and come to a reasonable solution for both parts. May 23, 2016 we installed 14 windows as previously contracted. The installation job consisted of removal of the inside trim, to access and remove old windows; install, seal all new windows, and put back the original trim. It is a standard procedure, and was explained to you at the time you placed the 50% down payment for the job. You, and your wife, were present when the job was being done. When the men finished, you wrote the check for the balance due, and tip the man for the job done. No complains! Three days later, May 26 I received a letter stating the molding was damaged, and you stopped payment on the check that you issued us as the final payment -$2,250.00. Shocked with your action, it had been 3 days since the job was completed, and we never heard from you since, I immediately called to find out what was the problem. It was not pleasant to find out that before we knew it was a problem, you already had a friend looked and priced the job -$1,500.00. I thought it was an outrageous amount of money to replace the stop trim on 6 windows, if they really got damaged and needed to be replaced. To that I said:” I need to take a look of what you are complaining about”, and you hang up the phone on me. I did not denied your complain or the service to fix it. I needed to see it. I was not able to leave my business at that particular time, so asked my installer, the man that did the job, to go back take pictures of the damaged trim, and see what needed to be done. The man promptly drove to the house, but was not allowed to take pictures. You got into a very deep argument with unappropriated language and told him to get out. It was Memorial weekend, and Tuesday, May 31 we made another attempt to resolve the matter. You agreed let me in, but the job was already done. There were many pictures of broken trim, piling on the ground, nothing that proved my man had done it. We needed to see it before, not after was replaced. I apologize for the aggravation and honestly want to compensate any damage we made, but we cannot pay for new moldings, because it was not part of the job agreement. In that respect, I am willing to take $500.00 off the total price to keep our relationship. We have no way to know if there was damage, and to what extent. We hope you consider our offer and put a closing to this matter. If we do not hear from you within 10 business days from the above date, we will have to file a legal claim. Please, contact us at your convenience, and let us know if you accept. Sincerely, [redacted]-President
