Gillman Imports of S.A. Inc. Reviews (1)
My name is [redacted] and a couple of years ago I purchased a Mitsubishi Outlander from Gillman Mitsubishi San Antonio. After purchase of the vehicle, my husband was laid off to part time with his company, [redacted]. Having just graduated from nursing school, our debt of loans increased as our credit scores declined making it extremely difficult to keep up but we managed to keep our house and car although payments were high and at times our payments were late. A couple of weeks ago we received a letter from Gillman Mitsubishi asking us to call them because they had a great offer of no down payment and/or lower our monthly payments. This was an opportunity that we were waiting for. Finally being able to catch up with our car payment and lower the monthly payments. We called the representative, [redacted], and set up an appointment to meet with him that week. The conclusion of that appointment was very disappointing because it became quite evident that Gillman was not going to honor their flyer of "no down payment" and the deals on the table would not work for us because we did not have extra money that we stated to [redacted] from the beginning. We proceeded to leave the establishment and was contacted by [redacted] several times over the next couple of days regarding "deals" that required down payments. At one point I was confused with the various amount of "deals" that were laid on the table so [redacted] stated that he would have another member contact me to explain the process with better terminology. I was then contacted by [redacted]. He proceeded to tell me about the several deals and I explained that we did not have the funds for a down payment and was there not another way to help us since the flyer stated that that was the offer of "no down payment". His response was "well, you should just let your vehicle go and then come in to our store and we can get you into another vehicle with no down payment. That's the only way we can help you" I asked him several times to reiterate his "deal" and each time was given the same response. he proceeded to tell me that the reason we were not being "honored" the flyer deal is because our old vehicle still had too much owed on it and that our credit scoring was not one that banks would work with. I was very distraught at this point and proceeded to politely end the conversation. I was very upset that someone would suggest to me to allow my vehicle to get repossessed so that I can get in debt all over again with a new one. I immediately contacted the general manager, Mr. [redacted], who then pushed me off to his floor supervisor, [redacted], and stated I was to only deal with him. This gentleman proceeded to give me more deals and offers this time with the Lancer that I was told could not be a part of the deal and yet it was now an option.
So to say that this experience has been the most stressful, unprofessional and devastating. I had such hope that some of our financial troubles were going to resolved. I was mislead, mistreated and I honestly believe that during this time they actually had the company of my current loan contact me more frequently regarding my payment which is due. They started contacting me 3-4 times a day during this time. Our current loan is with Mitsubishi. That is how I believe that they knew in the first place that our payments were high and we were behind needing help. They prey on those individuals that are so down on their luck they think they are doing them a favor.
