In Response:
Gilman Gallery Inc. has no consignment contract with a [redacted].
The only 52 pc of China sold was a mix of Lenox and other pieces which did not match but blended to make a short setting for 8 with serving pcs that compensated for patterns not being a match, short place setting...

pieces, and flea bites (minor small chips).
None of the 52 pieces were antiques.
Gilman researches closed sales on eBay and different market sites.  We do not use replacements.com for china and glassware due to their over pricing.  The same pattern and an older mark, of 32 pcs, Gump Lenox sold for $179.00 on eBay, on September 5.  The set that sold on eBay was not a mix of another pattern and was close to mint, unlike the set consigned to Gilman.
This consignor was paid separately for 6 petite demi-tasse which sold also.  The small cups sold for $60 for the set.
The contract allows for 10%.
There were no customer discounts given on either sale.
The consignor, is [redacted], 1192 with 52 pcs sold.
If this is the same consignor:  She dropped off boxes late afternoon, and expected immediate attention to her items.  Left no comments for pricing.
She did not make an appointment by phone or email.
Gilman was extremely busy with customers, she blocked the front counter, customers were in line waiting to pay, and she could not understand that consignment is taken in the order it comes in.  I was not rude, but very firm after repeating myself numerous times, and needed to move her from the sales counter.
When her china was priced, Anita, Gilman’s employee gave a courtesy call and when the china sold.  Anita had phone contact and is one of the sweetest people you will ever meet.
In reference, to finding the items:  without being notified or making an appointment, Gilman has different areas for items being priced and going on the floor.  Gilman has 20,000 sq ft, and if the item has gone on the floor, then it needs to be located.
If a consignor wishes to pick up items, it is customary to give a courtesy call or email in advance not just show up during business hours.  The two left over bowls were not lost, they were on the floor.
Just as the complaint, as to antique china???  It was not antique, and clearly, Ms. [redacted] does not understand that.
The dealer who recommended Gilman has been contacted.  The dealer was informed the china was given to the consignor.  The dealer would not take the china because there was not a set, but mixed.  She told Ms [redacted] the China was hard to sell and referred to contacting Gilman.  The dealer can confirm; the china was not antique.
Warm regards,
Darlene C[redacted]
