Review: The company sent out a HVAC tech to perform routine winter maintenance. System was working fine prior to the tech coming to my home. After inspecting the downstairs unit, the tech recommended that the contactor be replaced. I agreed to have the work done. After installing a new contactor the service tech came back to me and informed me that he had never had it happen to him before but that my compressor had seized right in front of him. He informed me that I would need to decide if I wanted to replace the compressor or consider replacing the entire unit. The tech then made arrangements for the comfort advisor to come to my home. At that point I informed the tech to remove the new contactor as I did not want to pay for something I could not use if the compressor was bad. The tech removed the new contactor and left the original contactor inside the unit (not re-installed). The comfort advisor met with me that afternoon and after considering the price of a new compressor versus replacing the unit, I agreed to replace the unit and signed a contract to do so. All of occured on 1/8/16 The new unit was scheduled for installation on 1/11/16. For my own peace of mind I contacted another HVAC tech to look at my unit. He checked the unit on 1/9/16. He found the original contactor laying inside the unit, he reinstalled it and system started working fine. He put a meter on the unit to check all status and system was working just as it should. On 1/10/16, I contacted the comfort advisor to cancel the installation of new unit and to voice my great concern regarding the original diagnosis. I further requested the Operations Manager contact me. After no follow for several days, I once again contacted the comfort advisor, who assured me the Operations manager was going to contact me. We are now at 13 days since this initial issue and I have still have not had any contact of anyone in the Operations Division of this companyDesired Settlement: I have dealt with this company for over ten years and up to this point have been very satisfied. This incident raises question, to me, as to the competency of this tech. I am also greatly disappointed to not have had any contact from the management in this company.
