I chose Gils Auto Works because it was rated #2 on yelp. My Honda Del Sol was hit in May 2019. Gils Auto Works quoted me $1200 to do the body work and wanted the insurance check sent to them. The insurance check included both body and mechanical and it was $2700. In November, Gil informed me that he painted the left side of the car a different red color. Now he wants the entire insurance check of $2700 to repaint the entire car. Gil kept the original estimate and refuses to give me back a copy. Gil also will not finish repairing my car and refusing to return it. I have been without my car for over 6 months.

I recived a letter from the Revdex.com for a costumer by the name of ***

My name is *** and I am the owner of Gils auto works LLC and the person who talked and delt with Mr.( Back in May 2019 Mr. came in and spoke to me about his 1997 Honda del sol red in color. I gave him a quote for repairing the left side of his car and both rims and quoted him 1200 or so. This was a out of pocket quote which we spoke about. A few week later he came back to drop off the car for repairs and tells me it will be covered by my attorney office. The insurance claim payed me for repairs of 2721.84 for repairs. I refuse to cash a insurance check and give him the rest of the quote I gave him a few weeks back cause he told me it was a cash deal out of pocket. He said he didn’t want the check cut out to him cause he owes support and they will take it from him. I did the repairs and told him to come see the out come of the repairs. I painted the left side and both wheels like we had agreed to. I went by the original code solid red color. The entire car has previous damage from older repairs I didn’t do being 23 years old . there are faded parts in the back of the car and peeling paint on back and front of the car. The parts I painted matches pretty good from the paint on the car concidering the age of paint. I recommended to match perfect there is no way unless the whole car is painted. He left I I havent heard from him sence. It has been here in my shop ever sence. I will have his car ready to pick up on Saturday 2/29/20. I have not charged any stores fees just to make this right Mr *** has been difficult to work with. I will start charging late and storage fees after the date stated ready for pickup. I have had no problems with any of my costemers cause I highly put costumer satisfaction a priority at Gils auto works LLC. ) please contact me if you need any additional info. ***

I am rejecting this response because: The information that *** provided is not correct.

1st. This was also ways an insurance claim. Mr.l received and cashed the insurance check.

2nd. Mr.l acknowledges that his paint job does not match the rest of the body of the car. The car has GOLD flake and a deeper color of red. The paint he used is a lighter red WITHOUT the GOLD flake.

3rd. Mr.l wants the remainder of the insurance check to repaint the entire car. He wants to paint it his lighter color of red WITHOUT the GOLD flake. I told him NO

4th. Mr.l promised to match the paint. I talked to Color Time paint store that provides paints to body shops. The explained that Mr.l should have had the orinal paint scanned to get the exact color match and should have added the Gold flake. Color Time also informed me that there are 3 different quality of paints. A cheap quality will not match a higher quality paint.

Mr.l needs to

1. Have the right side of the car scanned for a paint match with PPG or Color Time.

2. Purchase the highest quality of paint.

3. Add the GOLD flake to the paint to match.

4. Repaint the left side to MATCH.

5. Return the remained of the balance of the insurance check.

6. Start fixing his mistake immediately

I STATED IT WILL BE READY SATURDAY THE 29TH OF FEB WITH OUT STORAGE FEES. FROM MY UNDERSTANDING HE REFUSED SO I WILL START CHARGING FROM THAT DAY FORWARD OF 35 DOLLARS A DAY. I HAVE BEEN MORE THAN COROPRATIVE WITH THIS ISSUE AND HE REFUSES. ALL REPAIRS WERE DON’T AND HAVE BEEN DONE SENCE LAST TIME WE SPOKE IN NOVEMBER. I HAVE PHOTOS OF COMPLETED CAR SAME COLOR AND STRIPED. PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF THERE IS ANYTHING ELSE I CAN DO. I WOULD HATE TO PUT A LEAN ON HIS CAR FOR STORAGE FEES BUT HE IS NOT WORKING WITH ME. THANK YOU..
