I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID *** and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me
I would add that we did incur a cost of over $as part of the repairs to the generator. This was acceptable to us but wanted to clarify the record that we did incur costs. Finally, although the unit is currently operating, I want the record to reflect that these issues have been on-going since approximately 1-year after installation (while the unit was under warranty.) We are pleased that the unit is currently in good operating order but reserve the right to re-visit this issue should the same operational failures occur in the future
The generator was installed Feb of 2011. It has routine maintenance over the last four years. Generator developed a problem where it would not start in rainy weather. Problem has been diagnosed and repaired. Unit has been repaired without charge to the customer even though unit is no longer in...
warranty. Customer has sent emails to Gilson's service manager that generator is operating in good order.
Review: Defective generator. Gilson installed a whole-house generator 4 years ago. There have been continuing issues with its proper operation to the point that I previously filed a complaint against this company. It is evident that the generator installed was inherently defective from the beginning and Gilson continues to try put band-aids on the problem. They have placed our property in jeopardy as the generator is designed to run two sump pumps which prevent flooding in our home. They refuse to acknowledge the obvious and continue to replace parts at a significant cost to us. None of these so-called repairs have resulted in proper machine operation. Problems are continuous; when one issue is "resolved" another occurs. The machine is not fixable.Desired Settlement: Gilson is to replace the generator that was defective from the time of installation. This should result in no further costs to us.
