I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is begrudgingly satisfactory to me.  I have come to the realization that Mr. LeDonne and I will never agree upon anything.  Mr. LeDonne has demonstrated time and again that he does not want to listen, which is why I reached out to the Revdex.com.  At this point, I want to move on from this entire experience.

April 21,2014 _____________
In response back to [redacted] and [redacted]’s concerns.
I did perform concrete work for Ms. [redacted]; she was happy with my work and even
referred me to others.
Ms. [redacted] did indeed call me, in January, not in...

the fall; I promptly went to her home
and tried to assess the issue on her two slabs of sidewalk concrete. Unfortunately, 6
inches of snow at that tine prevented me from doing so but I did call her back and
stated I would fix her problem. One of her neighbors called me to possibly do work at
his home, when I was done with him; I went over to Ms. [redacted]’s home and saw right
away that the damage was caused by some sort of salt usage. I told her that, she stated
she used “special salt”. Later she identified it as “heat”. I always tell all of my customers
not to use any kind of salt the first two years after the concrete has been placed. With
age, the concrete will be able to withstand the use of salt, but not when it is new. I told
her that if the concrete company came out to assess her issue they would see that salt
was used and may not give us free concrete needed to replace the two slabs.
I called the concrete company and because I do so much business with them they said
they would cover the cost of the concrete for her. I relayed that message back to Ms.
[redacted], but then she wanted a definite date. My busy schedule would not allow me, at
that time, to give her a set date. Then she wanted in writing that I was going to replace it
for her, which I repeatedly said I was going to, the concrete company agreed to help her
out, but all of that was not good enough for her, and at that she got extremely upset. She
said she was going call the Revdex.com, Angie’s List, and go to a magistrate and she has
followed through on most of those threats. When I try to voice m e of thin s she said
I am bullying her because she was a woman. ? I can’t stress to.her enough,.I
WILLING TO FIX HER 2 SLABS OF SIDEWALK, this concrete season. 201.
I have since texted the phone it I have for her asking for her email address to put in
writing what I and the concrete company is willing to do for her but she has not at this
writing responded.

Review: This contractor charged me 6000.00 to replace my sidewalk in the fall of 2012. I noticed late in 2013, that the sidewalk was crumbling. I called the contractor and he told me that he could not do anything until spring. I contacted him today and told me that he could not do anything because I used rock salt on the side walk. I told him that I did not use rock salt, that I always used driveway heat, not rock salt. I didn't use very much of the driveway heat, I shoveled a path down the middle and put very little heat. The sidewalk is crumbling everywhere but there. He kept insisting that I used rock salt and refused to believe me. He said he would call me back some day but could not tell me when to let me know if he would do anything about it.Desired Settlement: I would like to replace the sidewalk squares that are crumbling.

Review: [redacted] came out in April and poured cement for a new raised porch sidewalk and parking pad to aid in accessibility for my disabled child. He was great he even aimed the gutter into the ground so it went out to the street instead of under the concrete and also put up our new pillars for the porch. Then a couple of months later I noticed the concrete on the parking pad had a crack that went all the way across. I phoned him and he called me back saying he would have to come out and look at it but never gave me a time. My husband called a while later and he did not return his call. I called again and he did not return my call then I called again and finally got him. He was confused as to who I was at first but then realized and started asking questions then casually said he would have to come out and see it and that he'd been busy. I have been very nice and understanding with him but now am getting upset I paid a large amount of money for a product that started to come apart just months later when it should last for years. Winter is coming and I am afraid with the salt and freeze/thaw effect that this crack will get much worse.Desired Settlement: I just want it repaired if that is not possible then I want a refund so I can take my business elsewhere. Possibly contact the national disability rights network.

Review: We had Gino L[redacted] Concrete replace our concrete driveway, sidewalk and front stoop on June 1st and 2nd of this year (2015). The new section of sidewalk leading off of the driveway has already developed a crack that seems to be getting worse as time goes on.Desired Settlement: Gino L[redacted] Concrete comes out and repairs the crack in such a way that it is no longer an issue.

Review: My wife, Kristy, and I filed complaint #[redacted] on August 26, 2015 regarding a crack in our sidewalk, which was poured by LeDonne Concrete in early June, 2016. We had turned to the Revdex.com for assistance with LeDonne Concrete because of prior experiences with the company’s owner, Gino. In prior phone conversations, he demonstrated that he was not willing to entertain meeting with us to discuss concerns that we had.

Because too much time, since the filing of our original complaint, passed without action from Gino, the complaint was closed automatically. Now that Gino has taken action, we find it necessary to open a new complaint.

On September 28th, Gino left a voice message. I returned his call on September 28th, and I left him a voice message in return. By October 7th, I had not received a reply from Gino; therefore, I call him again. At that time, Gino answered his phone, and we spoke. I learned during that call that he had driven out to our house to look at the crack in the sidewalk, and he said that he would fix the sidewalk. I requested that he call me before driving out to our house to perform the fix. I wanted to be sure that both my wife and I understood the fix that he would perform. He agreed and mentioned that he would probably drive to our house on October 12th or 13th.

I did not hear from Gino since.

On October 22nd, 2015, Kristy saw that the crack had been filled with a material that is a different color than the concrete that was poured. Also, the crack is not completely filled on the edges, so that the ends of the crack are still visible.

We have not received any follow up communication from Gino about the work that he had completed. Is the material truly going repair the crack, or will the crack reappear over the next months? Is the color of the material going to blend in with the existing concrete?

Based on my experiences with LeDonne Concrete, I am not certain of the quality of the fix that was made. Also, the fact that the entire crack has not been filled is troubling. The lack of communication only increases our doubts about the ability of LeDonne Concrete to provide a permanent solution to the issue.Desired Settlement: At this point, we do not feel confident in Gino’s ability to fix the issue. We would request a refund of $500, which is a small portion of the $6,700 that we originally paid LeDonne Concrete for the work. We would then use that $500 to help defray the cost of hiring another professional that can provide a permanent repair for the crack in the sidewalk.

Response:

The crack that Mr. [redacted] is referring to is not due to any faulty workmanship that I did. There is a pipe close to the surface of the concrete that needs to be there. Mr. [redacted] is aware of this pipe. There is approximately an inch and a half of concrete over the pipe which should be sufficient so as not to crack. Since it did crack, it leads me to believe that it was parked/driven on. I in good faith did agree to go to residence and assess the crack. A day later Mr. [redacted] called me and I informed him of my opinion of the cause of the crack, and he asked me if I was aware of a certain substance to fill in the crack. I told him I had different material to use and with time it would blend in better with the existing concrete. Better then the substance he mentioned. He asked me when I could come over to apply the filler, I replied on October the 12th or 13th, possibly. I went on the 15th, I filled in the crack, I knocked on the door to see if anyone was home, I got no answer. I left. I did not call to follow up, due to a surgery and also I assumed, I did what we had discussed, and that everything was fine. I have answered EVERY call Mr. [redacted] has made to LeDonne Concrete. I did what I was supposed to do, I am puzzled about why he went directly to the Revdex.com when he could and should have just called me directly to discuss. It is a 2ft crack, that has been filled, $500.00 is 7.5% of the whole project I did for Mr. [redacted]. I feel this is unfair. You are wary of my quality of work? You loved the driveway and sidewalk at the time it was completed with my expertise of 30+ years in business. I am willing to compromise on my great reputation as a businessman, that I do not need tarnished by this unfair, complaint. I am offering the [redacted]s 3%. $201.00, payable upon a signed agreement that we do not hear about this crack issue again. This is my last response to this matter. Sent on: 11/23/2015 3:23:02 PM
