the call or came in.We are an orthopedic office. Unfortunately, there are emergencies in this industry, and thismeans sometimes there are last minute changes to their schedules. Review: After 2 weeks of trying to get the office to sort out my referral I get an appointment as soon as possible so my referral from my primary physician will stay valid. On Thursday, January 29th an appoint was set. The issue is when I had to sign a stack of what I call doctors rights contract ( basically if I miss an appointment its my fault and I have to pay, if doctor does something wrong I cant take him to court, If there are insurance payment problems it my problem). It seems to be a patient's anti-rights contract. When I have to rent a car to make it to my doctors appointment or ride the bus and waste a day it is on me, but when there is no notification and no repercussions of the cancellation of not one, but two 8:00 am appointments this becomes a poor option about the doctors office, the staff, and especially the doctor. They think 30 min notification was OK for the first one and none for the second one, but their policy is for patients to give 24 hour notification, not including weekends and holidays. Their solution was not to set another appointment, but to get another referral from my doctor so that I could go through all his again. This is about poor professional ethics, poor business practice, and no respect for consumer with no choice.Desired Settlement: Since the doctor requires a financial compensation from their patients, I want financial compensation for travel time and cost. At 50 per day and two for two of them that equates to $100.
