Unfortunately we have no way of responding to *** ***'s accusations because they are false It's sad that this situation has become so twisted As stated originally, *** *** contracted with us to remove a 3" diameter tree branch that had grown onto her roof As you can see, the "before" picture that *** *** attached is of a different section of the the roof where there is no overhanging tree branch *** *** wants someone to pay for the damage that occurred to her roof after years of a branch rubbing on the edge of the roof As a company with a perfect record of customer satisfaction for over years, we always do whatever it takes to make our customers happy In this case, we had no role in causing this problem If did, we would be happy to make it right

I am rejecting this response because: When Mr. Giroud called me back right after I filed the complaint he kept saying that the damage was not from his company. simple branch removal.
On June 19, [redacted] contracted with Giroud to remove  a 3" diameter tree branch that had grown across and onto her roof.  We completed the work on June 25 and called [redacted] on July 1st to be sure she was satisfied with the job.  We left a message and asked her to call us if she had any questions or concerns.
We did not hear from [redacted] until October 14 when she sold her house and an inspector found a problem with the roof.  As soon as [redacted] contacted our office, Robert P[redacted], ISA Certified Arborist and her Giroud representative immediately responded and investigated the problem.  Unfortunately, he found that her roof had suffered from years of damage that occurred long before we arrived to do the pruning work.  In reality, the limb we were asked to remove had been rubbing the shingles and siding cap area for years.  This caused the shingles to fray and lift over time.   Pictures of the roof that [redacted] sent to us corroborate these findings.
Robert called [redacted] and explained that the branch removal was not related to the roof problem.  When [redacted] expressed that she was still concerned, Lou G[redacted], our President, called to discuss the issue with her.  At the end of that discussion, [redacted] indicated that she understood that we had not caused the damage.
If we had been in any way responsible for this damage, we would have done everything possible to correct the problem.  However, in this case, the problem is totally unrelated to our work and simply the result of years of wear from a large branch laying on a roof.

Review: Around 6/25/2014, the Giroud Tree & Lawn Company trimmed my ash tree on the right side off my house. Due to their improper way of cutting, my roof covering was damaged at the rear right and at the right ridge. This will allow water penetration and damage to surrounding materials. My house is only 9 years old and my roof was in a great condition before they performed the cutting job.Desired Settlement: Based on the estimation from my house inspector, it will cost $750 to $1,050 to have a qualified roof contractor repair the roof covering and replace damaged sections of trim.
