October However, we called her and discussed moving the start date as *** and *** were traveling to South Carolina for ***'s businessMs*** was fine with starting a couple of days later as she stated that she and her husband had decided not to put their house on the market. Some other facts about this particular job:Initially when we talked to Ms*** she stated they were selling and wanted to know if they could move ahead of other jobs we had scheduled in order to meet deadline for pictures with realtorThat was why initially we had the job scheduled on 10/27/2014. We were able to get the power wash completed the first few days of November before we experienced severe cold with temperatures dipping below zeroTherefore, we postponed any further work and again, there was no deadline as house was not going on the market. Ms*** became impatient with waiting on the weather and decided to fire us as she wanted us to caulk the house regardless of the weather and we agreed to return her deposit less the $for power washingWe scheduled other jobs in place and then that afternoon received a call from Mr*** wanting to re-hire usWe told him we would work their house back in the schedule. When the weather warmed a bit, Ms*** contacted us and insisted that we begin caulking her houseWe had reservations about the temperatures and the ground conditions for ladders, but Ms*** assured us that there was no snow on the roof and that there was no ice on the ground around the houseWe had a stopping point on the job we had moved into the schedule in her place after being fired; so we went to her home in anticipation of caulkingWe completed all but one areaThat area had ice on the ground and when we attempted to place a ladder on the ground/ice, it slipped to badly to be safe. The weather once again changed (common place in November) and we were once again unable to complete the jobAdditionally, as we had expected, the caulking did not remain clear as the temperatures changed and cause the caulking not to cure properly and it turned whiteHowever, since the stain Ms*** had decided to use is black and a solid bodied stain, we know that we can cover the caulking once the weather cooperatedMs*** once again fired us in December as she felt that we should be able to complete her job in the below temperaturesYes, we did have days of above degrees, but as outlined in the article attached, these temperatures were not consistent over a hour windowAt night, temperatures returned to the teens and 20'sAs we tried to explain to Ms***, this is not conducive to a quality stain/paint job. After several texts with Ms*** regarding the warm temperatures, we last texted her that we could pick back up in the spring when the weather would once again be conducive to paintingWe have a transcript of the texts if you would like to see them as they will convey that she also threatened us as well. In short, Ms*** is not due any refund as we have already incurred the following expenses: Power wash completed - $800.00Two men at $20.00/hour each for days (hours per day) = $840Mike's time at $65.00/hour for days (hours per day) = $1415.00Materials - $200.00Grand total = $3255.00Please let us know if we need to provide any further details.
