Review: I had a wig made on Friday, July [redacted], my second one. The first one wore better than the second one (even though it necessitated repairs two weeks after I had it for which I was charged $50.00), the wig lasted only eight months! Two weeks prior to my appointment for the second wig (this after I was told that repairing the first one would make the holes large in the netting), I was informed that I would need to purchase two bundles of real hair to make the custom wig (no suggestion of using the hair from the first wig) at a cost of $150.00 per bundle or a total of $300.00. One hour prior to my appointment on July [redacted], Treasure G[redacted] from Glam Cafe called me asking if I could bring in the first wig custom made for me because she wanted to use the wig cap (net) from the first wig. Unfortunately I was not able to bring it in. During my appointment, I was told by Treasure that she was not happy with the wig cap (net) she had on hand but would use it anyway. After the wig was made, it fit on my head but not snugly, it felt loose as if it would fall off at any moment – I was given a set of instructions to remedy this, but the wig was never snug. The cost to make the wig was $300.00; I was quoted $300.00 for three hours of work. The work was done in an hour and a half. Within a month of having the wig the stitching started to come loose and the sewn in strips of hair also started to come loose. During the second month the stitching started to come undone and the sewn in hair strips started to fall out. As with the first wig, I contacted Treasure but she refused to take any responsibility for her work. Nor did she give me an appointment right away – I had to seek an alternative solution. Unfortunately for me, I relied on what I thought was Treasure's professionalism and took her to her word that she was not at fault. She was not responsive or nor did she show any compassion for what is a difficult situation for me – I do not wear a wig for dress-up, I wear it based on need. I have given the Glam Cafe between both these wigs, well over $1200.00; I haven’t factored in repairs and tips in that total. I went somewhere else and bought a synthetic pre-made wig - I paid $236 plus tax for the wig not including care products after going to the Glam Cafe to have the wig repaired. I was told that the wig would have to be essentially redone and that I would be charged for this service. Dealing with Treasure G[redacted] has been uncomfortable. I had never had a wig made before this so unfortunately I took the owner of the shop to her word. Following this I researched industry standards for custom made wigs, and unfortunately the standards were not met by the Glam Cafe. The workmanship on both wigs was poor, more so on the second one; large unlocked stitching was used. The net used for the hair cap which was comparable to what one finds in Halloween play wigs. I trusted this shop to do right by me. I cannot afford this. I have written the owner - I have sent my letter US postal service and email. I have followed up with yet another email. I received a letter from Treasure G[redacted] regarding my complaint – her response is completely unsatisfactory and doesn’t bring up the issues I raised. This has been a terrible situation for me.

Beginning September I repeatedly tried to make an appointment with Treasure G[redacted] through their website explaining in the comment section the problem, but Treasure G[redacted] could never accommodate my schedule - I work. I finally was able to get an appointment for October ** which I did not keep - please see above.Desired Settlement: I asked the Glam Cafe for $600.00 hoping for an amicable resolution - I had hoped that Treasure G[redacted] would see that I was being reasonable even though this has caused me a lot of distress. I think that $800.00 would be a fairer amount considering all the additional expenses.
