Review: Had a windshield replaced by Glassworks in Havre, Mt. Technician accidentally pushed in front fender by leaning on the vehicle plus the paint was scratched from a tool. Contacted [redacted] the owner and he said he would take care of the damage. A bill for the damage has been sent to Glassworks four times. A bill was drop off at Glassworks. Then once by mail and two times via email over a three month time period. I have contacted my auto insurance about this issue. They said this could be summited to the auto insurance policy. Then the auto insurance would require payment for the damage from Glassworks. My auto insurance wanted me to try one more time before they gets involved.Desired Settlement: Glassworks pay for damages.

Response:

Response to [redacted] complaint. Glassworks has been in the autoglass business for almost 19 yrs now starting in 1995 and in those 19 years Glassworks has never had a major damage incident or complaint like this that I know of. Mr [redacted] came to my shop to have his front windshield replaced on his Toyota pickup and the work was completed properly to my knowledge. Then a while later out of the blue I get a notice from the Revdex.com stating that a Mr [redacted] had filed a complaint about the service he was provided by my business which stated that my front CSR employee was rude and unprofessional, then stated that my installer was also unprofessional ( [redacted] said the employee answered his questions and then walked away ) what was my installer to do just stand around with Mr [redacted] for a social chat ?? I don't get it he said he did answer his questions before going back to working on customers vehicles so what is wrong with that !! No business owner wants there hourly paid employees just standing around with customers wasting time. He did exactly what an employee should do and that is deal with the customer and then return to work !! The next complaint was that we scratched the paint on the fenders and the customer had to buff them out, then [redacted] says the fender was also pushed in from said installer leaning on it in which he had to push it out, next comes the complaint about the scratch in the paint from a scraping tool he says, and on to the last complaint of my installers leaving all the old windshield glue materials in the vehicle and he had to clean it out !! WOW is all I can say this guy found a problem with every single thing my company did for him..... not one aspect of this whole transaction went well for this guy supposedly !!! Very odd if you ask me since 19 yrs worth of customers praise my shops work and cleanliness and how well organized my shop is. Might I add that I have many high end customers that will only let my shop work on their very expensive vehicles........ Only high praise comes from almost all of Glassworks Incs customers. Now here is my problem with Mr [redacted] and his complaint.......... First off most people that have a bad experience or problem with services rendered or damage to their vehicle like Mr [redacted] claims would have came back to the shop to complain to the owner and have someone take care of said mistakes... In this case as the owner of this business I found out third hand through the internet on the Revdex.com that a customer was unhappy with Glassworks services. So I did some investigating about the complaintant and found Mr [redacted] in my computer and looked up his contact information immediately so I could personally take care of this situation as I do not take complaints or unhappy customers lightly ( which I have had very few in so many years ). When I contacted Mr [redacted] my first question was why he didn't contact someone at the shop about the complaint or why he didn't ask to speak with the owner about the problems with his vehicle since his claims are pretty serious one would think........ but Mr [redacted] didn't really have an answer at all as to why he didn't come back to complain of said service like most consumers would. He just stated that he felt the need to go online and handle it that way!! ( which I thought was very strange ) Upon speaking to Mr [redacted] over the phone I convinced him to bring the vehicle back to my shop so I could see the damage for myself and try to resolve the issue with him myself. Mr [redacted] did bring his vehicle the following day for me to look at and at that time I asked him to show me the dented fenders that he spoke of and his response was that he couldn't really show me them because he had personally pushed them out. I found that odd because if they were actually dented to start with he would have had to remove the fenders to push out a dent and he told me he used his fingers to do this. He also never mentioned the same fenders being scratched and himself having to buff them out as he stated in his initial complaint which I found odd also.... this mans story is not adding up here!! Another complaint was my employees leaving the old glue in the vehicle in which I have never seen nor heard of a vehicle leaving my shop with the old windshield garbage being left for the customer to clean up... maybe a few small specs of something or other but never all the remnants of old installation !! I did see a scratch in one area of the vehicles A pillar but could not determine if that was caused by my installers or if it was there prior to us working on the vehicle. I mentioned to Mr [redacted] that I noticed the condition of his pickup was in pretty poor shape already as far as the body of his vehicle was concerned due to the fact that the whole truck had many many scratches and a large amount of rust eating through the paint all over the body of this older vehicle. Even though its very rusted out he said he took care of his vehicles like they were new in which I find highly likely at this point but that is neither here nor there. At this point I was personally thinking this guy is trying to get some sort of freebee paint job or money out of me for unethical reasons ( scammer is what I call it ) but because im a very reputable shop and do not have problems like this I told Mr [redacted] that even though I do not agree with what I saw as far as damage and him saying he partially corrected the problems himself and did not contact me immediately to rectify the situation that I would still stand behind our work and do what I could to make him happy and fix his vehicle to his liking. I told Mr [redacted] to contact any body shop of his liking and go get the damage repaired and that Glassworks would pay for it. He went and got and estimate in which the shop faxed me later. Next I got another email from the body shop quite awhile later with the same info about his bid so I called the shop and asked if I owed them for the repairs at that point in which they said no that it was just a followup estimate and the work had not been completed yet and I owed them nothing at that point. Then a few more months go by and I received the same estimate a third time and called to find out that Mr [redacted] still had not contacted them to have the supposed damage scheduled for repair and that I still owed nothing at this point. I then told them they should maybe call him to see what was up and that I was not going to pay anything until the work was actually completed ! Next I get a letter from the Revdex.com again stating that Mr [redacted] was contacting the Revdex.com to complain again that Glassworks would not take care of his problem and that he was going to turn me into his insurance company to have them handle it. At this point I think this guy is a very shady individual that is looking to pull the wool over someones eyes and trying to get some sort of free work or money by using the Revdex.com complaint system to extort said money or services out of Glassworks. There is no other reason for him to not actually schedule the work !! I don't get it but at this point im very tired of dealing with this guy and wasting my time making calls and writing rebutles to his B.S. complaints...... about the damage to his truck in which is barely worth the amount of the repairs!! I don't know what else to say except that I have made every effort to take care of this situation and try to make Mr [redacted] happy with no luck !! I don't believe a cowardly individual as Mr [redacted] is warrants any more of my time or money in the future !! I'm done with him personally ....................... thank you and best regards [redacted] ( owner of Glassworks Inc. )

Glass works in Havre Mt. has poor customer service. The person in the office picked up her cell phone and made a call while I was asking a questions. I then had some questions for the person installing the new front windshield. He did answer my question and then walked off. I must have been talking to the hired helper and not the owner. When I got my vehicle home and started to look it over closer I notice the driver side front fender was pushed in plus both front fender had marks in the paint that I had to buff out. Also they scratched the paint maybe with a tool scraping out the old gasket. The inside of the vehicle was a mess from the old windshield gasket scrapings. I had to clean the inside of my truck. I am mostly upset with the front fender being pushed in by the installer leaning on it. I will not be a return customer nor will I recommend them for windshield replacement.
