Review: I laid a loved one to rest at this memorial park last year in August 2014 of last year. the original contract that was written was to bury this man and his deceased wife together .I thought it was ridiculous to have to pay extra cost for a small box that could of gone into the coffin with him which is what he wanted .But they said they couldnt do that .Personally I think it was just a way to get more money from people . The person who originally drew the contract up said the memorial would be paid for through the military because he was a retired veteran. He said that it would take a couple months to receive the memorial,, So I waited .. When I returned to visit the burial site there was still no memorial..I went in to talk to the person to find out what happened to the memorial and that employee no longer worked there and no one could figure out what happened . Finally I was directed to another employee who finally found the original contract and said the reason why there was no memorial yet was because I had'nt paid for the installation fee.. Which at the time was very upsetting had the establishment told me to begin with that there was an additional fee I would paid it when I paid for the funeral cost .So I went down there March 2015 to pay for his installation fee for his memorial and again I was told it would take a couple months. I decided to purchase an additional memorial for his deceased wife April 2015 for another 1368.00 . And they said it was going to take an additional 6 to 8 weeks to process. Again I waited patiently . I went to visit the burial site and still there was no memorial. I went in to talk to the other employee sI dealt with the last time and again no employee. She was no longer employed there . So I talked to the receptionist and she directed to someone that did'nt have any idea what I was talking about . Finally I asked to speak to the manager . Long story short The memorials were never ordered and didnt know why ???Desired Settlement: I think waiting for almost a year for memorials that I paid for and had employees telling me that I would be taken care of after continuance persistence . For an establishment to lie to there clients and had no knowledge or compassion towards people or their loved ones just disgust me . I think I should be compensated at least the installation fees for both memorials that still are not there

I am the General Manager for Glen Abbey Memorial Park. I met with Ms. [redacted] last week and was attentive to her concerns, I felt. Glen Abbey expects to receive the memorials within 4-6 weeks. Once they are received they will be installed, weather permitting. I have scheduled to follow-up by phone with Ms. [redacted] on October 30, 2015.

I feel if I waited so long after employee after employee wouldn't give me a direct answer of what happened to the memorial till I had to ask a manager what happened ..I feel they should compensate me for the trouble they caused and the lack of compassion their establishment showed and how irresponsible they were ..All the manager could do was say he was sorry after spending thousands of dollars to make sure I carried out the deceased wishes

On memorial day, I went over to Glen Abbey Cemetery, to honor my late wife; however, I found her tombstone covered with a white substance, like lime or salt; although this has happened before, this was the worst I've seen it. I have written and spoken to the general manager and others, on several occasions, regarding this chronic problem (i.e.,the water they use to irrigate; however, what they're irrigating, in the area of my wife's grave, now is nothing more than burnt grass (dead) and spots of bare dirt. Glen Abbey knows they've got a problem with the content and/or minerals in the well water they use, but are apparently unable or unwilling to resolve this issue. Needles to say, every time I go over to visit, and find the stone incrusted in the fashion I described in the foregoing, I suffer great sadness and disappointment. I don't think it's unreasonable to want my love one's resting place to be clean and lush with grass, but alas, it has really never been as nice as any reasonable person would want. I would estimate I've had to have the stone cleaned at least 10-15 times, and have cleaned it myself, when I was able, about 5 times. I think if we'd known about the problems, at the time we purchased the plot, we wouldn't have gone ahead with the purchase. Unless Glen Abbey, gets a cleaner source of irrigation water, this issue will continue, and it's darn shame...
