Glen Lennox Apartments

Horrendous service and accounting practicesI and my roommate lived at Glen Lennox Apartments for three years. During our time there, the company managing the complex seemed to charge first and then explain later. While there were multiple instances of unexplained charges and fees leveled, the main instance is how we were dealt with while leaving the apartment complex. Even though we told them we intended to stay in the Apartment through the month of August, they listed our lease as ending on August 3rd. When I learned this on June 10th, I informed them of our intention to move out on August 3rd. Even though the lease required sixty day notice, the office manager told us that we would be fine and that we could move out on August 3rd. From the conversation, I understood "fine" to mean, not penalized for the late notice. Nearly 3 months later (in late October), I received a letter from Glen Lennox stating that we owed them for rent through August 10th. Further, in that charge was a fee for "holding over." Neither the lease nor North Carolina law authorizes such a holdover fee.Desired SettlementA reduction in the amount charged by 2/3rds and an apology for such shoddy business practices.
