He has a secretary that is very rude, she hung up on me multiple times after attempting to get her name and my settlement informationI called back to speak directly with Chet and after asking my name she hung up on memy last attempted call she said "is this how u start your mornings?" This happened today the morning of 9/19/16.I also tried leaving a voicemail where she picked up the line and hung up so I was unable to leave a message directly to Chet

If you are considering going with Knight Carpet and Flooring, don't do it! Not only are they dishonest and don't stand behind their product, but they have very lazy installers that made countless mistakes in my homeI contacted Knight for an estimate to get vinyl plank installed throughout my living room, hallways, and master bedroom to replace the old carpetOne of the first questions I asked was if the floor had to be leveled and the general manager, ***, told me floor leveling and prep was part of the basic install costHe assured me more than once that the floors would be installed properly in accordance with what the manufacturer recommendsWhen they "finished" my floors I could immediately tell something was wrongWhen I stepped on the floor it would flex and make a "click" sound against the concrete subfloor and was very obvious something was wrongWhen I asked about it he lied and said that was and there was "no such thing as a level floor." After doing some research of my own and calling the floor manufacturer, I found that the proper floor prep was not done and they did not follow the install instructions at all that clearly state a flat level surface of 3/16" over feet, which is very common for most flooring When I pointed this out he was blown away and had no ideaThey never even read the install instructions that clearly stated what should be doneI also have end planks less than 8" long, end seems too close together, and repeating patterns right next to each other all over my house, all of which are specifically noted in the manufacturer instructions and are basic "flooring 101" type of stuffThe installers were also so lazy that they left gaps big enough I could see my subfloor, installed transition strips too short and crooked, did a very sloppy, unfinished job on the quarter round, and left liquid nail drips all over my floors that took a lot of time to cleanWhen I asked about the quarter round trim [redacted] told me "we just shoot it on straight" and "we aren't trim guys" and that's basically all they could doI went and bought a miter saw, and with no experience at all, was able to make it look nice When I called [redacted] to tell him my concerns, mostly about the floor not being leveled, he tried telling me that they were under impression that I didn't want my floors leveled to save costThat conversation never happened and he tried making it seem like a miscommunicationWhen I wasn't buying that he said they were under the impression from the manufacturer that the flooring could be installed over uneven surfaces and didn't have to be leveled I pointed out the install instructions that weren't followed and he told me he'd have to contact his sales repWhen he got back to me the next day he offered for me to not have to pay them anymore over the initial $investment and I could just keep the flooring "as is" and fix it myselfHis other option was that they could come to my house and take all of the flooring back out and give me a full refundI asked why they couldn't just redo the whole thing correctly and he told me he didn't think they could level my floor properlyI told them to just come take the flooring out because it all had to be redone and give me a refund but I also wanted a refund on the quarter round trim I paid for separately that all had to come off and be replaced When he talked to the owner (who never bothered to call about this disaster) and called me back they said they wanted to wash their hands of all of it and they'd just leave the floors how they are and give me a full refundThen he made an aggressive comment under his breathe about this being my "end game" and implied I just wanted free flooring all along, which he refused to repeat when I askedI received no apology, no sympathy, and in the end I'm left with more work to be done than I started withThis company made almost every mistake possible and then tried to make me feel guilty for itThey not only lack the competency to do the job right, but they severely lack integrity throughout the entire companyIf you value your time and money, take your business somewhere else

If you are considering going with Knight Carpet and Flooring, don't do it! Not only are they dishonest and don't stand behind their product, but they have very lazy installers that made countless mistakes in my home. I contacted Knight for an estimate to get vinyl plank installed throughout my living room, hallways, and master bedroom to replace the old carpet. One of the first questions I asked was if the floor had to be leveled and the general manager, [redacted], told me floor leveling and prep was part of the basic install cost. He assured me more than once that the floors would be installed properly in accordance with what the manufacturer recommends. When they "finished" my floors I could immediately tell something was wrong. When I stepped on the floor it would flex and make a "click" sound against the concrete subfloor and was very obvious something was wrong. When I asked about it he lied and said that was normal and there was "no such thing as a level floor." After doing some research of my own and calling the floor manufacturer, I found that the proper floor prep was not done and they did not follow the install instructions at all that clearly state a flat level surface of 3/16" over 10 feet, which is very common for most flooring. When I pointed this out he was blown away and had no idea. They never even read the install instructions that clearly stated what should be done. I also have end planks less than 8" long, end seems too close together, and repeating patterns right next to each other all over my house, all of which are specifically noted in the manufacturer instructions and are basic "flooring 101" type of stuff. The installers were also so lazy that they left gaps big enough I could see my subfloor, installed transition strips too short and crooked, did a very sloppy, unfinished job on the quarter round, and left liquid nail drips all over my floors that took a lot of time to clean. When I asked about the quarter round trim [redacted] told me "we just shoot it on straight" and "we aren't trim guys" and that's basically all they could do. I went and bought a miter saw, and with no experience at all, was able to make it look nice.
When I called [redacted] to tell him my concerns, mostly about the floor not being leveled, he tried telling me that they were under impression that I didn't want my floors leveled to save cost. That conversation never happened and he tried making it seem like a miscommunication. When I wasn't buying that he said they were under the impression from the manufacturer that the flooring could be installed over uneven surfaces and didn't have to be leveled. I pointed out the install instructions that weren't followed and he told me he'd have to contact his sales rep. When he got back to me the next day he offered for me to not have to pay them anymore over the initial $1800 investment and I could just keep the flooring "as is" and fix it myself. His other option was that they could come to my house and take all of the flooring back out and give me a full refund. I asked why they couldn't just redo the whole thing correctly and he told me he didn't think they could level my floor properly. I told them to just come take the flooring out because it all had to be redone and give me a refund but I also wanted a refund on the quarter round trim I paid for separately that all had to come off and be replaced.
When he talked to the owner (who never bothered to call about this disaster) and called me back they said they wanted to wash their hands of all of it and they'd just leave the floors how they are and give me a full refund. Then he made an aggressive comment under his breathe about this being my "end game" and implied I just wanted free flooring all along, which he refused to repeat when I asked. I received no apology, no sympathy, and in the end I'm left with more work to be done than I started with. This company made almost every mistake possible and then tried to make me feel guilty for it. They not only lack the competency to do the job right, but they severely lack integrity throughout the entire company. If you value your time and money, take your business somewhere else.
