Review: In October 2012, [redacted] of [redacted]co Design and Construction, Inc. was hired to do a major home renovation project to commence in the summer of 2013. An executed contract was signed on May **, 2013 for $376,500. To date, More than 25% of the contract remains incomplete. The workmanship on several items that were technically completed, fall so far below any industry standard that they need to be ripped out and re-done. (Over 400 photographs available). The poor workmanship was confirmed by: the Town of Hempstead Department of Buildings, the Nassau County Office of Consumer Affairs, independent contractors, an outside architect, an independent real estate appraiser, and, an insurance adjuster from Farm Family. The contract called for a completion date of 9/**/2013. As of 12/*/2013, the home was not completed and Glenco was terminated. At the time of termination, Glenco had already been paid approximately $404,000 - well OVER the contract price.

AFTER being terminated, [redacted] left two manila envelopes on our kitchen counter (trespass?). One had a document entitled: "Bid-Proposal.' The other had a document entitled " Extra Work Order"

The Bid-proposal sought an additional $25,000 - $35,000 to complete the contract. The extra-work order sought $127,400 in alleged unapproved "extras." The "extras" were not itemized. Dozens of attempts for an itemized justification of these alleged charges has been requested. To date, none has been provided. When questioned which one [redacted] is seeking - an additional $26k or $127k, [redacted]'s response was, in sum and substance: "That's up to you. If you sign the bid-proposal, we will complete the contract. If you don't, we will sue you for $127,400."

We decided to fire [redacted]co. Thereafter, [redacted] filed a mechanic's lien on our property for $101,400. He did NOT serve a copy of the Notice of Lien. He misrepresented that $127,400 was the "agreed-upon contract price' which it certainly was not (the contract was for $376,500). And, [redacted] misrepresented that from 10/2012 till December 2013, we had only paid him $26,000. I can easily produce cancelled checks totaling well over $404,000.00.

In addition, during the course of his employment, [redacted] asked us to write a check to "Windowrama" for over $16,000 for the windows for our home. The contract called for an allowance of $15,000 toward windows. Upon receipt of the invoice from WindowRama it was determined that approximately $1400 in windows [redacted] had us pay for, did not belong in our home. After much fighting, WindowRama recently refunded to us approximately $1000. They claim that [redacted]co workers cracked one of our already installed windows (master bedroom window) and replaced it on our credit without our knowledge or permission.

[redacted] left our major home renovation completely and utterly unsupervised. During the course of 7 months, he showed up at our house less than 1/2 dozen times. We recently found out that the company he hired to install our (faulty) HVAC system was not licensed to work in Nassau County. The HVAC system is one of the biggest problems in our house.

Finally, while we contracted with "Glenco Design and Construction, Inc." [redacted] apparently deposited all of our payments into a different account belonging to different corporate entity that he is affiliated with - ie., Glenco Builder's Corp.Desired Settlement: 1. Withdrawal of mechanic's lien (which [redacted] verbally admitted he filed solely to scare us into not filing a lawsuit against him)

2. Refund of payments we are required to make to other industry professionals to: a) complete the home renovation project, and b) repair damage he caused to our home
