Glendare Park

Review: I have been a resident in my current apartment since November 2013. When I moved in, I informed the leasing office that the carpet was terribly soiled and also that there was a lingering smoke scent within the unit. The apartment was treated once for the smoke scent but, there was never a follow up concerning the carpet. I have submitted many work orders and I have even physically gone to the leasing office to hopefully have my issue resolved only to be left without answers. The smoke scent lingers and due to me having severe seasonal allergies, the smoke scent is not only unpleasant but also affecting my health. After feeling fine and returning from out of town for the holidays, I had to go to the doctor due to me having a case of Sinusitis because of my allergies on January 9, 2014. On February 5, 2014 I again spoke with a leasing representative and I was told that my apartment would receive ozone treatments regularly for the smoke scent and that maintenance was going to see what could be done to remove the soiled stains from the carpet. I have not received any follow up concerning the ozone treatments or even carpet cleanings.Other than these current issues, in the midst of approaching winter weather, my furnace is rumbling and making horrible knocking sounds, which only adds to my frustrations, My experience so far has not been a great one. I simply would like for the apartment company to keep their word and if not to allow me to leave free of charge. As a full time graduate student, dealing with school is stressful enough and having to deal with unprofessional, and poor customer service from Glendare Park, has not made my life easier. If I need to contact [redacted], I will gladly do so as well. I am not here to cause trouble, but I do believe this issue is unacceptable, unprofessional, and shows a lack of concern or care for tenants. Currently, I do not foresee me recommending Glendare Park to anyone in the future.Desired Settlement: Due to the soiled stains on my carpet that have been here since I arrived, I do believe I should receive a credit or a lower monthly rent late. If such an option is not feasible, due to the smoke issue as well the carpet stains, maybe carpet should simply be replaced. This would free the stains and would also rid the apartment of the smoke smell that usually appears when the unit has been dormant. If all else fails I would like to be released from my lease early so that I can relocate.
