Glenn Medical Center is happy to address the issues raised in the above referenced report. The patient was seen in our Emergency Department as he reported and was with us for several hours. During that time, blood work was done for a significant number of diagnostic tests (8), reports of which we are happy to provide to this patient. In reviewing the record, there is no mention of any secondary insurance information being provided; hence, none was billed. The patient did mention talking with someone here at the hospital and that would have been a good time to tell us about the secondary insurance. Our Billing Office has checked all available eligibility files and has not yet been able to document a secondary payor in any of the major databases. Our Billing Office Manager will contact the patient for that information and submit a bill to a secondary when we have that information.

Review: On May 15, 1015, I called 911 because I was feeling anxious. The police took me to mental health at the hospital in Willows. The doctor who received me complained that I came at 3 in the morning and continued to badger me. He treated me like trash. After I left the hospital, I walked until I found a store that was open early and called my wife to come pick me up. Later we received a bill from the ER Physicians Medical Group in Culver City, which we considered legitimate. Then a few days later we received a bill from Glenn Medical Center for $205 with a total charge of $2,104.00. We visited the financial office at the hospital to ask what this bill was for. Turns out, it was for a bunch of tests which they insist they gave to me. All I received was the regular blood pressure and temperature test in the office. I was given no other tests. There was nothing on the bill to say who paid for most of the bill. I assume it was Medicare. There was nothing about sending the rest of the bill to [redacted] which is my supplemental insurance. When we told the financial person I received no tests, she said we did not have to pay the bill and therefore owed nothing. However we have continued to receive the bill in the mail and once got a phone call to pay it.Desired Settlement: We feel that Medicare, or whoever paid, should be refunded by the hospital. We don't want to pay for services not rendered.
