Glenwood Ale House, Inc. Reviews (1)

I went to the Carolina Ale House on Glenwood Avenue for the first time ever with my close friends and experienced horrible service from the servers and the management. Not only did I experience terrible service, but my credit card, which I was told was not going to be charged until the tab is closed and the bill is divided. My experience did not take a turn for the worse until after my friend and I agreed to send back some chicken tenders and French fries and some Spinach dip that came us cold. The waitress was not the person to drop off our food, it was another member of the wait staff, who did not stay around long enough to make sure everything was up to par. Our original waitress never came back to check on us after we had received our orders. I had to get my friend to get her attention about 15 minutes after we had been served our food, just to let her know that our food had come out cold. I informed her that it was cold and asked her if we could get our food remade fresh, and she never indicated that is was a issue, as she took up our food, and took them back to the kitchen. About 10 minutes after the fact, the manager aggressively comes up and tells my friends and I that he was going to charge our chicken tender order twice because it was more than half eaten, without ever offering an apology, or even trying to work with us. He further said that he was not making us a fresh spinach dip, but he was going to reheat the same one. He seemed completely annoyed and aggravated and did not handle the situation appropriately. There were only 4 strips on the order and my friends and I were sharing, and he tells us that because 2 were gone, we can't get a refund or get a new order without being charged. All of the other wait staff could not believe that this was how the manager handled the situation and offer to rectify the situation as best, but ended up charging my credit card $42.00 for the entire order. The manager tried to justify this as well, and summoned the security to kick us out.Product_Or_Service: Chicken Tenders/Spinach DipDesired SettlementI would like people to know what kind of business this Carolina Ale House is and how it mistreats its customers. A refund was never offered and the violent nature in which the situation was handled was unnecessary and unapologetic. No one should be treated this way when they are spending their money at a business. I would like to see my money placed back in my account. Business Response Contact Name and Title: [redacted] - Brand MgrContact Phone: [redacted]Contact Email:[redacted]Dear Revdex.com,This guest (along with others in her party) has sent complaints through various channels including our website and social media. We have attempted multiple times to reach out to her and her friend in the hopes of resolving the issue, to no avail. We have not heard back from her or others in her party with any contact information but would welcome the opportunity to remedy. We have attempted to reach her at the phone number attached to this Revdex.com communication. We wish to be able to speak to someone in person and welcome the opportunity to learn more about this situation. Carolina Ale House always strives to treat our guests with the warmth and hospitality of the Carolinas and if we have not done that, we certainly wish to rectify it. Consumer Response [redacted] However, in reference to the response provided by the Carolina Ale House, I have not received any form of communication regarding the situation. If there was a missed phone call, there was not a follow-up call to identify themselves, no left voicemail message, no email, no text message. Nothing. I'm not sure what number they dialed, but it could not have been mine. It does not make sense that someone who is genuinely concerned or pressed about resolving an issue would only call once and not leave a message. Either way, it is unacceptable. No one has reached out to me, in fact, the post that I wrote on their [redacted] page was deleted, and no message was ever sent back. I never signed a receipt for the charges on my credit card, and I want my money back for the horrible, discriminatory treatment that I received on this particular night. I am disgusted in the way this situation has been handled thus far, when it could have been deescalated properly from the beginning if proper training of staff and management had been evident. I will not settle this issue with the Carolina Ale House until something significant is done about this issue. Final Business Response Our director of operations called and left another voice message at 10:45 am on Friday with his phone number so that he could speak with [redacted] about the matter and find a solution. As of this morning (Monday), she has still not returned his call.
