House Remodeling
I am thrilled to share my overwhelmingly positive experience with this exceptional contractor. Their team recently completed work in my home, transforming the kitchen and installing a bathroom along with an expert job in painting. The quality of their work is simply outstanding, with meticulous attention paid to every detail.
The workers were a pleasure to interact with - neat, polite, and extremely professional. They always took the time to answer my questions and explain the process, which made me feel involved and at ease throughout the project. Their respect for my home and dedication to keeping the work area clean and organized was truly appreciated.
As for Robert, the owner, working with him was a breeze. His commitment to customer satisfaction was apparent from our first conversation. He ensured everything was running smoothly, maintaining open communication and offering helpful advice when needed.
Our first interaction with Kaitlin, the assistant, was just as impressive. She consistently answered calls promptly and courteously. Her responsiveness and professional demeanor made every interaction a pleasure.
I wholeheartedly recommend this contractor to anyone in need of home improvement services. Their commitment to quality work and outstanding customer service is truly unmatched. You can expect your project to be handled with the utmost competence and care.

Review: We contracted Glitz construction to build our new house at [redacted]., in August 2011. There are sums that are unaccounted for ,subcontractors have not been paid, and failure to build our house according to plans and specifications.. In 2011, Glitz construction was paid two checks in the amount of $63,000 for excavation, lot clearing, the foundation, the basement and all stoops. The construction was halted for one year and when the work was resumed, Glitz charged us an additional $14,000(which was paid in full/cash) to complete the concrete work, although he still had $18,000 from the 2011 payments unaccounted for. He also hired a subcontractor who did not finish the stoops. Another subcontractor was hired who charged $5,000 and he only paid $2,500 to cover the cost to date. He had promised to pay the balance of $2,500(via an email memo) when the stoops were done which was six weeks ago.

Moreover, Glitz only paid the HVAC company $8,000 to date, although we have paid $13,000 to date for HVAC. He owes an additional $5,000 towards HVAC, in order for the work to get done. We have also paid $15,550 for electricity and wiring work, but the electrician has informed us that he only received $8,000 to date. We also paid $20,500 for plumbing work, but the plumber did not finish the job. Finally, we paid $3,500 in full for the fire place, to date the job is not complete.Desired Settlement: We would like to receive refunds for the following:

1)the sum of $8,500 for plumbing to be completed;

2)$5,000 For HVAC to be completed;

3)the sum of $7,550 for electrical work;

4)pay for extra fees due to delays- $708(builder's risk insurance) and $5,000 (to extend the bank loan as the construction was not completed by September **, 2014;

5)the previous sum that glitz had collected for concrete work in the amount of $18,000 ;

6) the sum of $1200 for fire place to get done; and

7)$2,500 for the stoops

Let it be known that the aforementioned dispute is a blatant attempt to slander and discredit the work of Glitz Construction Corporation. In August 2011, Glitz Construction was contracted by [redacted] to build a new 5 bedroom colonial home in [redacted]. Glitz Construction Corporation obtained a building permit from the [redacted]. The house was built up to a certain point. Which includes: the foundation, framing, roofing, windows and it was wrapped; ready for vinyl siding installation. We received a call from [redacted] stating that she had been informed to cease all work, due to the fact that the house had been built on [redacted] property and it needed to be relocated or demolished. This incident was a result of error on behalf of the title Company and the surveyor. Glitz Construction in no way, shape or form was responsible for any wrong doing.

At this juncture, all pertinent inspections were completed and approved by the Town of Brookhaven inspectors. This entire incident was documented in the media.

[*Please see this website: [redacted]].

Glitz Construction was informed by [redacted] that the title Company was reimbursing her for the relocation of the house and she wanted the work completed as soon as possible. Although, Glitz Construction submitted a bid to [redacted] to rebuild the foundation, [redacted] chose to use a difference Contractor at a less expensive rate. Upon obtaining a new permit from the [redacted]

[redacted] under Glitz Construction Corporation we continued the work after the home had been relocated.

WORK COMPLETED WITH ALL PERTINENT INSPECTIONS APPROVED WERE: framing, strapping, insulation, electrical rough, plumbing rough and HVAC rough and a subcontractor was hired to complete the flat-work (concrete slabs, stoops and basement stairs). This particular subcontractor failed to complete the stoops in a timely fashion and Glitz Construction agreed along with [redacted]

[redacted] to pay the remaining $2500 upon the completion of the stoops. Up to this point, 90% of the work had been completed at [redacted] which includes: drywall, priming and painting, stairs, tile-work, external doors, installation of interior doors,

molding, railings and installation of kitchen cabinetry (that had already been ordered).

The dispute began when [redacted] wanted to install tile instead of wood in the foyer and did not want to pay Glitz Construction Corporation for the additional work. [redacted] hired another Contractor and laborer to perform work under the license of Glitz Construction. [redacted] was fully aware that this was a breach of Contract, but proceeded; stating that “she is the homeowner and she can do whatever she wants.” [redacted] then contacted [redacted] Consumer Affairs and the Revdex.com in an attempt to discredit Glitz Construction with false accusations in terms of funding. Again, [redacted] has hired a new Contractor and laborer who are illegally working under the license and insurance of Glitz Construction Corporation. Glitz Construction wanted to resolve this matter with [redacted] and continuously kept an open line of communication with the homeowner. Unfortunately, the homeowner has chosen a different path.

Thank you.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

[Your Answer Here]Having reviewed the preliminary dispute claim response furnished by Glitz construction ([redacted]), we have conluded that this builder is atrocious and outrageous! He is the one in breach of contract. Our written agreement stated that any changes in the scope of work would have submitted in writing, by the builder. He neglected to inform us about any changes pertaining to our foyer.On August [redacted], he stated that he had terminated our agreement. Several witnesses heard the builder's decision to depart from the agreement(including his workers who were at the site that day). We then kindly accepted his departure-since we already had numerous unresolved issues. The following day, the builder collected his equipment and personal effects from the house.Moreover, we strongly recent the fact that the builder is accusing us of making false claims and hiring illegal workers. All receipts and complaints filed, will be provided to the authorities, upon request to prove our case. Also, the builder needs to get his facts straight. Unlike the builder, we only hire legal laborers to work for us. Our present day contractor possesses a valid license and is fully insured. He was approved by [redacted] and Consumer Affairs. The builder was the one who was hiring illegal/incompetent workers to do work at our house. We paid this builder a lot of money to build our new house,but he failed to honor the agreement. It was WRONG, on his part, for not building according to plans/specifications and for not properly supervising hi workers.Furthermore, the house move was a separate issue that was already resolved by our title company, close to two years ago. The agreement to build and the house move was irrelevant. Our present day issue is not with the past, but with the present issues (from November 2103 to the present):unaccounted funds, poor job performance, lack of skills/knowledge in reading the correct details on house specs, incorrect kitchen cabinet measurements submitted to subcontractor. During a conversation with the builder concerning these issues, he stated that he di not "FREEKING CARE." This was very distasteful and disrespectful!We are seeking $58,808 from Glitz construction for the following: $22,000 for plumbing/heating and oil burner/oil tank and condensers, $2,500 for stoops, $5,000 for HVAC, $708 for builder's risk insurance. $1,200 for fire place framing, $18,000-previous sum collected for concrete work, $6,900 for extra electrical work and reframing/building kitchen cabinets, and $2,000 to extend building permit, due to delays.The courts will review and investigate the facts underlying the dispute, gather evidence needed, interview relevant witnesses, and correspond with all interested parties. It was really a HUGE MISTAKE hiring Glitz construction([redacted]), to build our new home. All will be revealed-in the court of law-shortly!Sincerely,[redacted] & [redacted]
