Review: Our company used Elance to hire a designer to build a website. The designer took our money, never delivered the site and Elance contacted him to do arbitration. He never responded to the request. Elance then wanted to charge us $291 to arbitrate to recover $400. However, you cannot arbitrate without the other party participating. Elance then say they would cancel his account (which we have no proof has been done) but will not stand responsible or assist in efforts to recover this $400 that the contractor has essentially stolen. We paid $400 for a website and have received nothing.Desired Settlement: Full refund of $400

Review: I have been calling and trying to work with Elance for the past five weeks. They have locked my account due to inactivity in my account (I hadnt filled out a status report from one of my clients)

As soon as I was made aware of this I immediately took all the actions that they requested. What followed was radio silence.

You cannot speak to Risk Management (who start at 12:00 EST) and they are the only people that can clear my account. I was told by one of the CS Reps that people have been waiting over a month for their account and there is nothing they can do.

Now I am waiting on payment of over $1000.00 and cannot accept another job from a happy client which is another $1000.00 job.

The customer service reps are not empowered to do ANYTHING and the poor things just have to listen to complaints. When I finally got a manager on the phone he was rude and told me there was nothing he could do either and that they were waiting fro more information from my client. That was the first time I had heard that in FIVE weeks. I should not be held accountable for the lack of action on their side.

I have lost five weeks of work, am unable to pay my bills because they are holding my money and are no help.Desired Settlement: Unlock my account so I can use it

Review: My company purchased and paid USD500 for a data list of names for the Australian market. We were led to believe that the company had the information in Excel format and we would receive the Excel file immediately that we paid their invoice. Our payment was made by bank transfer directly into the account of the company based on the information on their invoice. I have an email confirming that the funds were received. We were promised that the information was already in the format we need and we would receive it once our payment was received.I now believe that we have been deceived (scammed) into making the payment and that we will not receive the data we paid for. I have made repeated requests these past few days and now I receive no replies to my emails.Desired Settlement: The company clearly made false and misleading claims and cannot supply what we paid for. While it is not a large sum of money there is a clear principle involved and we, and possibly many other companies, have been deceived.We would greatly appreciate the assistance of the Revdex.com to determine if Global E-Lance LLC is in fact legitimate, if they have any capability to supply what we paid for, and if not then to ensure this firm repays our money. I have all relevant documentation.
