Global Landscape Construction Service Reviews (%countItem)

This company Global Landscape construction services goes by many names (global lawn design). It seems like it operates for a few years under one name and then closes/reopens to continue giving bad customer service and work. I paid *** $7.5K to build a outdoor kitchen, patio, and fire pit. Throughout the whole process I had to explain to *** how he was completing the work incorrectly. It got to the point where he was finished. I am left with island that doesn’t have matching bricks. Unsafe fire pit that shots a 3 foot fire ball when starting. I asked *** if I purchased an electric starter could he install it. He agreed and I continued to purchase. I asked *** to install a flower bed. We agreed to $950 and he listed all the size bushes he was going to install. The day came for *** to work. He installed half the size flower bed and bushes. Then he had an excuse that we would be back to install the electric starter to the fire pit. He also told my wife I wanted the flower bed like this. So my wife paid the $950. When I came home I called *** to discuss the half competed work. I have never heard from *** again. He has avoided all phone, text, and email contact. Now I left with incomplete work and I lift threatening fire pit.

Global Landscape Construction Service Response • Jul 09, 2020

I've changed business names once in 20yrs. I've never closed and reopened to avoid customers. I changed the name from Global Lawn Designs to Global Landscape Construction Services whem I discontinued my lawn care service to focus more on the construction side. I was hired in Apr/May to build an outdoor kitchen for the ***, the scope of work was the outdoor kitchen, extend the patio area and build a gas firepit. Mr ***r bought all appliances ( the grill/ fridge ) this is important because I custom build my kitchens and countertops to the exact specs of the appliances, the grill was changed after I had started the build.Mr ***r claims to have had to explain to me how to I was working incorrectly. Mr ***r continually changed the plans as you will see in the many texts between he and I. My job is satisfy the customer and a change happens along the way that is OK. his changes were frequent. First it was the grill, when a change was made me and my crew would have would have to stop and tear down a section and start over. This happened twice w the grill. he sent back one grill and exchanged during the build process. Then it was the keg-o-rator which never happened but I still had to plan for. I had to stop what I was doing and wait for him to make his mind on that. I had to remove the second grill after it was installed, remove a layer of bricks and re-installed, all at his request. It had nothing to do w the workmanship... numerous times Mr ***r would change directions during the build process of the kitchen. As far as the brick goes, I informed him before we ever began that I didn't know if I could get an exact match but that I would try and get it close. I indeed found a brick that matched closely enough and held it up to his existing brick on the house and Mr ***r approved it. It was very close, not perfect...But the real complaint here is that Mr ***r is upset that I didnt install an electric ignitor in the firepit, once again after I had completed the project. Another after the fact change. He bought this component and asked me to install it. It was NOT included in any estimate or scope of work. ( see text msgs ).The landscaping was extra work done to back yard he wanted. ( see text for detail ). I told him I would like to learn to install the ignitor since it is not something I include and sinceI've never done one before I would take a look at it. I decided that it wasn't within my skillset and that I didn't feel comfortable installing it for safety reasons. Not only had we adjusted the original plumbing from the source to the pit to eliminate a whistle sound which is common. ( see text details ). I would have had to deconstruct a portion of the completed firepit to install the ignitor. At no time did we we discuss a price or did I commit to the installation. Another example of a change by Mr ***r...The 'landscaping' was for a 'flower bed'w black steel edging, rubber mocha mulch, plants ( see text details for list ) 1/2 pallet of bermuda, black lava rock and some egg rock. ( see texts for details ).After completing the landscaping, I called Mr ***r, twice w no answer or return call. I then sent him a text msg explaining how I felt about installing the ignitor. That is when I approached Mrs ***r about payment and basically told her the same thing about the ignitor which I was never under any obligation to build. She was very happy w the landscaping and she was the one that approved the flower bed design. We did run about 3'-5' short in the edging and mad a curved design to end it. She liked it and paid me.Mr ***r is upset because his wife paid me for the week he agreed on ( see text details ) w no mention of price for installing the ignitor. I feel like he was going to withhold payment and try to force me to install the ignitor. I attempted to contact Mr ***r when we had finished BEFORE Mrs ***r paid me. We finished, we waited, she was happy, she paid me and we left. One other thing regarding the firepit. It was working as it should when I left. I think that Mr ***r added the (2) extra bags of black lava rock to the top of the grate causing gas to get trapped and build up inside the firepit. I had originally placed only (2) bags on the grate to allow flow between the gas ring and grate, NOT create a barrier. I pointed that out to the ***.Mr ***r continually sent me texts sevaral times a day, I did respond and told him would get back w him after I had a chance to read thru them all. Also, Mr ***r is very impatient and even called me 15 X's in a row late on a Saturday night ( 11p ) and left me a drunken message and admitted to being drunk in a text to my son that same night calling me 'a little ***'. He sent another text to my son the following day, Sunday at 630a apologizing... and this is why I haven't responded to Mr ***r in light of the drunken after hour calls and texts...Please see ALL texts between us and how they back up w my claims to dispute Mr ***r's...***GLOBAL LANDSCAPE CONSTRUCTION SERVICES***.***.*** All work defined both in plan and proposal forms are copyrighted and are property of GLOBAL LANDSCAPE CONSTRUCTION SERVICES until purchased. Please contact us if interested in purchasing the plans/ ideas without the installation. ("Architectural Work" under 17 u.s.c section 102 known as the Architectural Works Act of 1990)

I hired *** to do my driveway back in August paid him 1/2off the money upfront he said he would start the driveway that week drop some wood off & I didn’t him so I text him to see when he was going to come to start the work said he was having problems with the city in regards to permit . I spoke with the city of Bedford they informed me that he needed a security bond for him to get the permit. He said he had the bond which was not true so that took over a month. Then he got the bond said the city denied the permit bc of where the driveway was to be poured so I had the city come out & they approved the driveway then we had rain. I was aware couldn’t pour the concrete when it’s wet then I waited after the rain was done I kept calling & texting to see when they were going to be out to get started with the driveway he came with 2 guys to do the work. It was 2 different sections to pour the concrete I told T how are they going to manage bc the concrete will dry not enough person to do the work said they are good and it will be done and will look good. I am so upset they left the driveway looking like crap and they left for the weekend. I called him told him hey the concrete is going to dry and it’s all over the side, front of the street the driveway said they would be back Monday which was over 2 weeks ago and no show I have been texting him calling him no response the city of Bedford Code compliance came out week ago cannot believe how bad of a job he did and they are trying to get a meeting with him bc he did a horrible job and the dry concrete and debris is all over the place. DO NOT HIRE HIM HE TALKS REALLY SWEET BUT WILL LEAVE YOU HANGING. I should have not paid him the day he poured the concrete I should have waited till the work was done he knows how to talk be very Careful. I was told it would look great it’s a disaster.

Contract states 10 x 12 poured concrete; actual 10 x 10. He made a correction, but it doesn't look the same.

Contract was also for an installation of an outdoor ceiling fan. He could never get the electrical to work properly. He told me he was hiring an electrician to do this work. I suspect he did not because the so called electrician did not speak English. I had to pay an actual electrician $175 to fix his mess.
