These masters are taught and urged to push these contractsWe are moving anyway before the Winter ends, so there is no way on God's green Earth my son is going back to that corrupt dump! These are parasites that prey on people, steal from people and use legal jargon to get their slimy selves out of troubleAnd try to force innocent people into forking over EARNED money They should try it sometimesYou sleep wellThen again, I'm sure these parasites do, they certainly do have a conscience Law officials need to jail these people Regards, [redacted]

This letter is a response to a complaint ( [redacted] ) that was submitted 11/11/2015.As we have read over customer's complaint we would like to explain the actions that took place from our end.The customer signed a month contract on 9/10/By signing contract it states client understands all terms and conditions on the reverse side of agreementThe client's first payment on his contract did not process until 10/25/and it this point there was no request to cancel submitted by client on file.The first request we've received from client to cancel his account was on 11/3/The note we have on file from client that day is as follow,"Client called because client states student only took trail class and then they cancelled because student is going to a different academy that he likes moreexplained to client policy and client said this is ridiculous because he would've never signed the contract if school explained itClient said he wifi talk with master and he will be calling his lawyer because this is fraud"After receiving this request from client we contacted the academy where contract was originally signed and was informed the client had called the school and requested to cancel due to the student having a medical condition (Bronchial Asthma).On 11/3/the client had cated back after the initial cancellation request and had provided a new reason as to cancel that differed from client's first requestThe note from client's second cancellation request on 11/3/is as followed,"Client called again and client stated he will be faxing a doctor's note for cancel and he wants a refundI explained there will be no refund and account will remain active until proof is received and approved.”On 11/10/we (GMS) had received a fax from Client’s doctor referring to the students medical condition The cancellation policy (ART10) for the clients membership under disability cancellation is as followed,“The Student may extend the term of this Agreement at no additional cost for a period of time equal to the duration of a disability where the Student's disability precludes the Student from using one-third or more of the facilities for a period of less than months and the disability is verified by a physicianThe Student or his/her legal representative may cancel may cancel the Agreement if the Student dies or becomes permanently disabledA permanent disability means a condition which precludes the student from using one-third of more of the facilities for months or more and the condition(s) are verified by a physician'The client's proof of cancelation (faxed doctor's note on 11/10/2016) was not approving for a disability cancellation but a disability hold, The reason why account is not cancelled is the note we received for the student only stated that the student would not be able to attend academy for the winter seasonWith the information provided on the note it was deemed the account was able to be held during the winter months and would resume biting starting in March of 2017.We've contacted client back on 11/11/concerning the client's doctor's note and attempted to explain the reasoning on why we could not cancel the account on only offer a month holdIt was at this point in the Cali that client became livid and expressed his frustration very vulgarly that he wanted the account cancelledAs we began to explain why account was not able to be cancelled client very persistently kept demanding account be cancelled and prevented our representative from explaining in detail why the proof of cancellation was not approvedWe were informed before client ended conversation that his lawyer would be calling is in minutes then client ended the cali.As per the contracts terms and conditions the account has been placed on a month hoid as approved from the proof letter we received from client, if client wished to full cance the membership client will have to submit cancellation proof approved under his contracts terms and conditions.To address the refund request from client it is under Artof the clients terms and conditions thatstates,"NON-USEThe failure or inability of the Student to attend or participate in the school for any reason, will neither relieve nor suspend the Student's tuition obligation to make a payments required under this agreement or a timely basis, nor entitle the Student to a refund or credit for tuition."Paul S*Account MangerGlobal Membership Services

My son went to *** ***'s Karate for a few FREE trial lessonsAfter the first lesson, we were immediately pressured to sign a formIt was basic they saidThis is just to save his spot should he want to continue his lessonsI explained to them we don't know if my son will or can continueDon't worry they said, you can cancel anytime with no problemsWe called them to cancel after the second lessonMy son was having difficulty breathing due do his bronchial asthmaThen I see two weeks later I've been debited $It reads Global Membership on my accountI immediately called them at the karate locationThey said it's out of our hands, take it up with Global MembershipFirst off, the workers at the dojo said we can cancel anytime which we did after the second lesson, the FREE lessonThey said ok, I'll make a note of itI said no, cancel itThe girl replied ok, it will be doneWell of course, it wasn't

Global Membership Services is the collection agency for *** *** *** *** in Midlothian/Chesterfield, VAOur three children were students there and we signed a contract with them for monthly billingBut we moved from Chesterfield, VA, miles to our new homeWe have a copy of the signed contractIt states: “#RELOCATION The Student may cancel this Agreement if the Student permanently moves more than additional miles from the School and is unable to transfer the Agreement to a comparable facility located within miles of his/her new residence.”

I SIGNED MY SON UP FOR TAE KWON DO AND AM COMPLETELY SATISFIED WITH THE INSTRUCTOR AND FACILITY, HOWEVER, IN MAY MY SON BECAME ILL AND WAS NO LONGER ABLE TO PARTICIPATE IN TAE KWON DO AND I NEEDED TO DIS-ENROLL MY SON ORIGINALLY, CONTRACTUALLY, THE OWNER OF THE FACILITY INFORMED ME IN THE EVENT THERE WAS EVER A NEED TO TERMINATE MEMBERSHIP, ONE MONTH OF MEMBERSHIP WOULD BE CHARGED AND THE ACCOUNT CLOSEDTHE BILLING COMPANY FOR THIS AGENCY IS GLOBAL MEMBERSHIP SERVICES THE CONCERN I HAVE IS WITH GLOBAL MEMBERSHIP SERVICES ONLY THEY HAVE CONTINUED TO CHARGE MY CREDIT CARD AFTER I INFORMED THEM TO TERMINATE DOING SO THEY REPORT THEY HAVE NEVER RECEIVED MY MAIL AND MY FAX TO TERMINATE MEMBERSHIP IN ADDITION TO NOT STOPPING CHARGING MY ACCOUNT, THEY THEN ADDED ANOTHER LEVEL OF TERMINATION REQUIREMENT NEVER AGREED OR DISCUSSED WITH THE OWNER OF THE BUSINESS THEY BILL FOR GLOBAL MEMBERSHIP SERVICES THEN DEMANDED I PRODUCE A MEDICAL DOCUMENT/LETTER FROM MY SONS DOCTOR SUPPORT

This company is deceptive in regards to their contract First, if you sign a contract with Global Membership Services, it does state the contract will remain in full force and effect until the termination date Whether you sign up for a year or three, your end date is termination of the contract On the back under terms and conditions, you can cancel the agreement if you move more than additional miles You may think you can contact your gym/dojo and cancel, but you can not This is a third party What it doesn't state under "Relocation", is that you need documentation sent and it has to be approved You may think you have time, but that is not the case GMS will continue to take your fee until these terms have been met and they do not reimburse Termination is on their termsIf you are in the military or you work for a company that relocates you often, do not sign with GMS In my case we were relocated and with the hustle and bustle of finding a home, packing, etcI wish I would have know these details I urge the consumer to be aware of what you are signing, especially with GMS I was with our Taekwondo for four years and signed the same piece of paper, but stated I was paying cash because we do relocate I did not realize when I resigned my daughter up and have always paid cash or check, that they set me up with automatic withdrawal, which I never agreed to those terms Also, for the business owner, there are other companies out there where you can manage your own contracts This way your customer doesn't have to jump through hoops to cancel your agreement

My daughters payment is due to COLLECT MONTHLY payment: Instead of collecting on 25th of every month they have collected on 15th this month September It is 10days early collection from my CREDIT CARDit is ONLY due to collect on 25th of every month

I am rejecting this response because: the master said we can cancel at any time. We were fraudulently persuaded to sign the form based on the masters insistence that if you want your son to hold a spot as they are filling up quickly, then you need to sign. That's FRAUD!! 10/22/2014Client has signed contract on 10/15/2013 and by signing contract client agrees to all terms and conditions or contract. The account was supposed to put on a 2 month hold for the months of May and June 2014. When Global Membership Services puts an account on hold the held payments...

move to the end of their payment schedule because on all accounts upon signing clients agree to pay (x) amount for (x) monthly installments. This client signed for 11 monthly installments of $149.00 a month. We honored the hold request for the months of May and June which has made the new last billing date 11/15/2014. Now on 1/13/2014 client did call and request cancellation and we explained to client the cancellation policy which is under Art.8 of contract it states contract is non-canceliable. Under Art.10,11 it states the only 2 ways of breaching contract. A Copy of the terms and conditions has been attached explaining in full and a signed contract (some information has been blacked out for security). Client has call again recently at which point it was explained to client about the hold and the policy explaining why client has to pay, Client said she didn't want to pay because the student didn't want to attend. Client explained that she will not pay for something she is not using. Global Membership Services has explained this to client on multiple occasions.
