The attendance of such classes is at least kids per class, so we can accept students with the rate of $49/classes! Please see our deal online!I am really surprised that there was an expectation of teaching a semi-private Ballet class for $4.90!About the performance: it was very unfortunately that our instructor AshelyJ [redacted] was injured in a car accident and going every week to doctors and physical therapistShe clearly told me that she was worried about the upcoming performance and that she isn't feeling well and the doctors told her to have a temporary break from teaching dance so she could recoverWe invited a substitute teacher for one class and I was notified that [redacted] did not like the class and the substituteI immediately notified the substitute not to come anymore to teach that class and found another wonderful instructorI emailed and called several times [redacted] ***'s parents to please come and bring [redacted] to rehearse free of charge in order to try and be convinced that the new instructor is great and very kind and [redacted] in NOT going to perform by herself, there were other girls practicing the choreography and one of them was an advanced level student who stepped out to be the leader and help the othersOur performance was not cancelled, we did everything as we planned and [redacted] and her parents decided not to participate despite our efforts to make the recital a successful event for everyoneThe $fee per student was to ??? the rent of the performance venueWe do not keep these fees for ourselvesThe venue was [redacted] Performing Arts Center at [redacted] University, which is very expensiveGlobal Music Academy has a signed contract with them and the payment for rent is non-refundable as it should beWe can not be refunding fees just because parents or students decide not to participate for any reasonIf one student is serious about dancing and the instructor is on medical leave, but there is a team of other dedicated instructors and dancers who are working with the students, what is the reason not to show up anymore for classes and rehearsals? Dear Revdex.com,
We deeply apologize for the delay in response due to unexpected and serious health issues. The customer [redacted] contacted us and came to Global Music Academy to sign [redacted] on March 7th for dance classes. [redacted] seemed very excited about the idea of...

dancing. We have advertised the beginning of our spring session on March 14th based on having enough enrollment for the Creative Movement/Intro to Ballet & Tap for 3-5 y!o kids. Whenever there is an insufficient enrollment, we have to unfortunately cancel the classes and wait until enough students enroll. All the parents received a list with the spring semester dates from March 14th until June 20th and we were excited that the semester culminates with a showcase on June 21st. We were, of course very much hopeful that all of our students (and parents) will be committed in participating fully in all classes and in the show as well. Only one parent told us that they will be able to attend only for one month because their schedule will be changing in April and this why they were allowed to enroll and pay only one month tuition. The rest of the students have paid a minimum of 10 classes in order for us to be sure we can run the whole session smoothly. We certainly offer a monthly payment plan, too, and this is for students who enroll for the whole academic year. The dance classes are group classes and we need to ensure that parents and students understand their commitment not only to our Academy and instructors, but to the rest of the students in the class. Would it be fair if after couple of classes everyone drops and there are only 1-2 kids left to take the class and prepare a showcase choreography alone? We have never heard of such practice in any dance studio or recreation center. We certainly encourage students to come and try a class or two before they decide to register, if they are not sure if they will like it or if they feel they may not be ready. We do understand if some parents have concerns and they only want to have some trial classes before making a commitment. This was not the case with the kids in the spring semester this year. All parents signed up and got a copy of the semester dates, clearly showing what they are signing up for. [redacted] attended several classes and she seemed to enjoy it, the last class she came in ,however, she was not paying enough attention to the teacher and to her father. Perhaps she was tired, or having a bad day (which is typical for a toddler), and we understand their decision to leave. I personally strongly encouraged them to come again for class, and perhaps another day and time or eventry to do only Tap dancing, which [redacted] seemed to like more than Ballet. I was willing to discuss these options with the parents and this way we could find out if [redacted] would be able to continue OR she is not ready for dance classes all together. I was thinking to even offer a participation in a princess summer camp instead or some different class later on, if nothing else would work out..... I was really surprised when [redacted]'s mother ASAP contacted us that they are withdrawing [redacted] from dance and asked for immediate refund. This was really rude and disrespectful, and she did not show any patience. We do not provide refunds, and even if there are circumstances in which we believe it's fair to refund the Student, we discuss it calmly and tell when the refund will be issued (which is not immediately!). In our four years of running business in this location, we had to refund the outfits fees to 3 students, and ship the costumes back, because they had a valid excuse for not been able to participate in an annual showcase. Tuition fees, recital fees, etc. can't be refunded, because our instructors are paid to teach the entire session I camps workshop or show event, even if some students decide not to show up! [redacted] did not wait for us to explain anything, she just said if she doesn't get the resund in 2 days, she will contact you, and her credit card company to dispute. We would like to ask [redacted] if she ever signed for any swimming, or sports classes or any courses in any facility or recreation centers college, etc. and decided to stop going and if she ever asked for immediate refund? Please ask [redacted] on our behalf to answer this question! We are still open and available to discuss with the parents of [redacted] any arrangements for the future and to help if we can!. But the spring semester's classes are still running every Saturday morning (without [redacted]) and the instructor is paid for her time and expertise.
Many thanks and please advise.
Sincerely,
Nediana P

[redacted] enrolled in the Ballet program of Global Music Academy in the Fall of 2013. At the first day of the enrollment we notified the mother of [redacted] that our tuition is $80/month and $35 one time registration fee. The mother appeared very concerned that this is too expensive. We do not...

have any reason to discount our prices, however I personally offered the rate of $15s one hour class and half of the registration fee to which the mom agreed. Moreover, [redacted] had semi private classes with only one more girl until April of 2014, when two more girls enrolled. In January of 2014 [redacted]'s mother approached me and said that she saw our [redacted] deal. Our deal is 5 classes for $49 and 10 classes for $83. However the mom said that now come we are offering 10 classes for $49 (obviously that was her impression?) and we are charging her $15 per class. I said that unfortunately she did not even buy the [redacted] deal, and with 2 girls in a class we definitely can not even accept such deal. The [redacted] deal is only for couple of classes listed for the little kids - this is clearly posted online! The attendance of such classes is at least 7 kids per class, so we can accept students with the rate of $49/5 classes! Please see our deal online!I am really surprised that there was an expectation of teaching a semi-private Ballet class for $4.90!About the performance: it was very unfortunately that our instructor AshelyJ[redacted] was injured in a car accident and going every week to doctors and physical therapist. She clearly told me that she was worried about the upcoming performance and that she isn't feeling well and the doctors told her to have a temporary break from teaching dance so she could recover. We invited a substitute teacher for one class and I was notified that [redacted] did not like the class and the substitute. I immediately notified the substitute not to come anymore to teach that class and found another wonderful instructor. I emailed and called several times [redacted]'s parents to please come and bring [redacted] to rehearse free of charge in order to try and be convinced that the new instructor is great and very kind and [redacted] in NOT going to perform by herself, there were 3 other girls practicing the choreography and one of them was an advanced level student who stepped out to be the leader and help the others. Our performance was not cancelled, we did everything as we planned and [redacted] and her parents decided not to participate despite our efforts to make the recital a successful event for everyone. The $150 fee per student was to ??? the rent of the performance venue. We do not keep these fees for ourselves. The venue was [redacted] Performing Arts Center at [redacted] University, which is very expensive. Global Music Academy has a signed contract with them and the payment for rent is non-refundable as it should be. We can not be refunding fees just because parents or students decide not to participate for any reason. If one student is serious about dancing and the instructor is on medical leave, but there is a team of other dedicated instructors and dancers who are working with the students, what is the reason not to show up anymore for classes and rehearsals? We do have a cancellation policy requiring 30 days advanced notice for student's withdrawal. Also, we can not accept any withdrawals right before recitals or exams. We teach responsibility, self-confidence, professionalism and goal achievement. Our recital was a success especially the routine [redacted] had to perform, and everyone else rehearsed 2-3 times/week. That was in our opinion plenty of time and a great opportunity for everyone to get fully preparedRegards,Nediana P[redacted], director Global Music Academy
