1. Unethical billing practices (in how they bill the patient and the insurance company). Doctors will enter extra notes in the chart just so the front office has an excuse to enter billing codes that have nothing to do with the visit you came in for. Doctors there have also recommended medication that I didn't need - specifically an $8,000 birth control that was covered 100% by my insurance company if the doctor said it was "medically necessary". On several occasions they also billed my insurance and still turned around and billed me for payments my insurance had already made.
2. Poor doctor follow up
3. Extremely long wait times in the office. MINIMUM time I ever waited to see a doctor was 1 hour; maximum time they had me in the waiting room was 3.5 hours. Each time I had an appointment. One time I was having an ultrasound done with one of the medical techs and I watched as she came out and asked one of the receptionists what was taking so long and the girl replied that they couldn't find my chart so she couldn't send me in yet. This was after I had been sitting there for 45mins so I got up and told the tech that I had been there waiting and was ready. She said her hands were tied until the front office could find my chart and give it to her. Never did the receptionist apologize or bother to explain why they had me wait so long and why they couldn't find my chart.
4. The worst front office staff you will ever experience at a doctors office. They are rude, dismissive and borderline incompetent. They will transfer the phone constantly, not pick up the phone at all, or hang up on you after long holds. Their billing staff is not much better. I once had one of the girls call to tell me that if the insurance company called me, that I should lie and say I never received a certain medication because she had ordered it from a non-approved pharmacy so she wanted to resubmit the claim as if it had never happened, and as if I had not already received the medication. Not to mention this particular claim had been from MONTHS earlier and I had started a brand new job at that point so I no longer had the same insurance. So she blantantly asked me to commit insurance fraud, which I politely declined to do. They are unbelievable and definitely deserve to have their records audited.
