We usually do not even take overall jobs on because of situations exactly like this one This vehicle is more than years old, over 200,miles on it and had rust in many areasThe right hand quarter panel was completely missing in a large area, along with both door bottoms being rusted out, and the metal around the filler neck for the gas tank was rusted away (which was discussed with the customer on what we would be repairing before we did any work) We replaced the metal in the quarter panel and inside the fuel door, replaced the front bumper and hood, painted and installed a spoiler on the trunk lid, painted and installed lower valances on the front and rear bumpers, repaired the doors and scuffed and painted the entire vehicleThe only thing we did not previously discuss was replacing hoodThere were many layers of cracking paint and the underside of the hood was rusting around the front lipYes, this was a favorThe black spots in which the customer is referring to are likely from previous paint that is not compatible with urethane primers and topcoatsThe only way to prevent that is to completely strip the panels to bare metal, which I also discussed with the customer that this route would be much more expensiveA typical exterior restoration with minimal repair starts at roughly $15,We were willing to keep the customer happy and keep a good relationship and go over any spots that he saw until he repeatedly called and text me demanding half of his money back and threatening to sue me We will absolutely not be refunding any money
