We were also lured into a meeting thinking it was about the timeshare we already had. No! It was a sales pitch to get us out of that one and buy into another one with no maintenance fees. That was the best sounding part, especially, if high maintenance fees are being paid. We were meeting in a restaurant that was closing ... hurry we gotta get out here, they're closing. Yes, Mexico was mentioned to the fact that it's easier to go through Mexico than deal with the US. I remember that statement very clearly. Two months later we got our info with the fact that we had a Mexican timeshare. We couldn't even get a password to look on the site before we got that paper work. If they'd looked at us and said...you will be buying a timeshare in Mexico, we would've been out of there..FAST.
We didn't have any time to read over stuff, sign sign sign...hurry the place is closing. Told us lies, easy to get a place, cheap to rent. Nope, had to pay MORE fees in order to use the RCI, had to pay for the place. We'll never use the timeshare or use the RCI for an exchange. In other words, we're paying 22,000. for absolutely NOTHING . And yep...it all looks good on paper for them... Sad for us. We're in our late 70's. (I've had someone tell me it could be considered Elder abuse) We'll be continuing with all avenues to free ourselves from this company.

I am rejecting this response because: Global Retreat Inc, provided information and misleading advertisement in order to gain our businessOn several occasions during the presentation, I questioned their information and they continued to deceive the West Gate company with vulgar lies and informationAs stated in their presentation on the invitation call, they were a part of West gate and wanted us to come in for an ownership update of new options for their West gate ownersDeceiving the consumer is punishable in a court of law, awarded with the penalty of a third degree felonyThis is warranted by several agencies and organizations...FTA, FTC, AAAC and most of all its is warranted in the State of Florida in which this crime has been committed.Sincerely,

The client was not within the parameters for the time period for cancellation of his contractThe cancellation time period of days was communicated to the client upon signing their contract, instructions on where to send cancelation letter and instructions are also provided on the contract
itself Mr*** is being provided a service for his $9,that is legally bindingWe are happy to provide our customers with status information on the process that will further support the information provided during their consultation meetingWe can appreciate Mr***’s opinion on his experience so far and are working to provide a more seamless procedure for all of our clients. However, Mr*** did express his request for cancellation on the morning of 3/15, two weeks after the day cancellation period. After Global Retreats explained to the client that he was out of his rescission period, the client provided payment option that afternoon and asked to “get this thing going as fast as possible”. We initiated all services and are currently doing everything we can to accommodate our client

Global Retreats has been in contacted with Ms***. She has spoken with several members of GRI but she does not like the answer, hence the complaint. GRI informed her that the cancellation period has passed, we cannot cancel her contractGRI has paid for her membershipI have
enclosed her certificate of membership. She has a separate contract with a company to cancel her timeshare, not GRI. She signed the contract agreeing that it would be a separate fee. The transfer have not taken place because she refuses to pay the feeGRI does not complete the transfersThe owner of the company tried to talk to her, she threatened him with lawyers. She said she was calling AMEX to get her money refunded. She did file a dispute with AMEX, after they reviewed all our contracts, they refused a refund. She did not follow the terms of the contract, she had days to cancel. She has written many threatening Email stating that she was getting a lawyer. We tried to explain to her that contractually GRI has done nothing wrongShe was angry and refused to listen. She hung up on the last employee that tried to help her. She is trying to hurt GRI by sending a complaint to the Revdex.com GRI also has copies of Emails, phone conversations. GRI records the signing of the contract GRI makes sure that the VO goes over the contract with the client, answering all there questionsThe VO stressed that what is in the contract is legal and bindingThe contract is not void because she thinks it isWe are willing to speak to her again and give her any assistance that she needs with the transfer company

The company that contacted the client did not misrepresent Westgate. We have listened to the recording, there was no mention of Westgate anywhere in the phone callThey did not follow the cancellation policy, they tried to cancel *** after their membership had been completed. I have called and spoken with the client. I informed them that we can no longer give a full refund, the membership is complete. I offered to give them more points. I asked if there was any way to make them happy and they said not without a full refund. They have filed AMEX dispute, it was Closed in Global Retreats favor. We have a page contract with their signatures that they signed explaining all the RCI feesI have spoken with the VO that handled this case and she tells me she explained everythingGlobal Retreats has completed the contract we did nothing wrong

Mr. [redacted] L [redacted] submitted a cancellation request outside of the parameters for the cancellation time period on his contract. The cancellation period of 7 days was communicated with the client prior to signing the contract. Global Retreats is holding Mr. [redacted] accountable for his legally binding contract and is being provided a service for his $9,500. We would be happy to provide Mr. [redacted] with a status update on his account and information on where it is in the process. We are always striving to provide our customers with the best experience, however, Mr. [redacted] expressed his interest in cancellation on 3/15. This is two weeks after the 7 day cancellation period had transpired. In addition, after GRI explained to Mr. [redacted] that he was past his recession period, the client provided payment that afternoon and stated he wanted to “get this thing going as fast as possible”. We are now moving through the process and currently doing everything we can to accommodate our client.
