I [redacted] Belland am responding to the letter that was sent to us about [redacted]'s 2002 Cadlillac Escalade
this vehicle came in in April of 2015, the technician...

was checking for dead short in vehicle . The technician printed out the wiring diagram for the vehicle and proceeded to go throughthe scamatics - wiring gets very complicated and she couldn't give the vehicle up for any sort of time. Never heard from her until I had to call her in June and July to even try to get the vehilce back in to be looked at more. Again she didn't have the time - in August she finally had some time for us to look at . The technician at this time had 24 hours into the vehicle incuding having it to the dealership and a expert electrical person work on it. This cost us to do , where she came up with no labor cost is beyond me - were not a non profit organization. Check out the work order , she needed to pay the cost that we had into it, and only charged her for 6 hours - which we had 24 hours labor into it. We will not be refunding anything to her. As far as the cleanliness of the vehicle , it came in filthy. we do not smoke in any vehicles sorry to say. The tech said he never touched any phone charger or her ash tray with the supposedly razor blade in there. We had a new battery in it and she didn't want to pay for it so we took it out - We don't owe her any battery, she new she needed one because she had drained it too many times. I have sent you a email with a photo of the invoice. We also paid a rental car for her in the amount of $375.00.

I just received and reviewed the response from Bellands and there are several discrepancies. The company told me ever time I brought my truck there to not worry about the cost. That they would not charge me for ANY labor throughout this whole ordeal and they will cover me. They wanted my truck there to figure it out the issue for other vehicles they may get. They also told me they would rent me a vehicle free of charge because they wanted my truck back to figure out what was wrong with it plus since they had it a week that I did have loaner and they didn't even start working on it. They told me they would not charge me for labor or the car rental. The parts they put in my truck were unauthorized and never fixed a single issue. I contacted them several time w/no response so they could return the unauthorized parts. As for the still owing them money, we settle for the final bill of $850 CASH so I could get my truck out of their shop, which, I had to have my dad come jump to even get it off the lot. I am not nor ever requested a free battery from them. My battery, which they drained to nothing, was still under warranty. I am not trying to get anything extra from them. I have attached pictures of the inside of my truck w/the razor, cigarette ashes (I do not smoke) and greasy finger prints that only come from a mechanic. I'm confused to why Mary said that we wouldn't charge her any labor - what about when she called for the first appointment , that is wrong and we never did charged her after the first time she came in . She never paid anything any of the times the vehicle came in until I politely ask her to return the rental car that we paid for, as far as the parts installed in her vehicle , no electrical parts can be returned after 30 days, therefore she should have contacted us before that and make arrangements for that , we do not pay for rental cars, but we did for her. It's not my fault that her vehicle has problems all I can do is try to correct the problem, this particular vehicle had major electric issues, beyond the time that we could continue to put hours into it. Again we are not a non profit business , we stil have to pay the technician for his time.
I lost money on this job for the amount of time and vehicle rental and only getting paid for only 6 hours and spending 24 hours on it , so I'm sorry to say there will be no refund to her, as far as the cleanliness of the vehicle I'm going with the owner that worked on it that he never smoked in the vehicle or used razor blades.

The technician who worked on my vehicle, [redacted] Belland, who is part owner in the company told me every time I spoke to him that he would not charge me labor. He is the same owner that authorized & paid for the rental car so he could continue to try to figure out a solution. That is why I was willing to continue to bring it in for him to figure out the issue. It became a personal quest for him to figure it out and assured me each time that he would not charge me labor. My truck is old and I informed [redacted] each time I was not willing to put much money into fixing the problem nor paying for him for excessive time spent on it. I would have brought it to another repair shop that have more advanced/qualified skills for fixing that type of problem. [redacted] seemed very determined to figure out a solution but just couldn't.
All parts that did not correct the issue, should have been removed & replaced with the original part. A shop cannot perform any unnecessary or unauthorized repairs. These were all unauthorized unnecessary parts that have been replaced. I should not have to pay for them, they were unnecessary & unauthorized. Bellands is charging me for unauthorized parts, breaking the verbal contract with me on the labor and soiled the inside of my vehicle. I am allergic to cigarette smoke and would never allow anyone to smoke in my truck. You left my truck in worse shape than I brought it to you. I had to have someone come and jump my truck to even get it out of your lot.
Once again, a shop cannot perform any unnecessary or unauthorized repairs. Bellands broke the verbal agreement with me and made the inside leather interior filthy.
