Here is the whole chain of events1) I asked them for academic discount.
2) I was told that I can register for $1042.
3) They sent me a form where I was required to tell my credit card information.
4) I told them to send an online link where I can pay securely.
5) They provided me the link but I chose not to registerI had a conflict
6) I was told that they already registered me when I asked for the invoice and they threatened me to report to collections.
7) I spoke to their CEO, Byron, who talked very professionallyHe apologized for the mix up and agreed to transfer the invoice to another event that will happen in DallasHe also suggested that if I have to cancel Dallas one then I should let them days in advance as per their cancellation policy.
8) I now have travel planned out and told them well in advance that I can't make itThey now again started threatening me about collections.
9) I am tired of this and have paid them $I felt they arm twisted me into paying this.
I will like to reopen the case.
Resolution:
1) GSMI web should honor their cancellation policy of days notice and refund me $since Dallas conference is in July 2016.
2) Give me in writing that they will not report anything to collections for SRSC Dallas invoice or SRSC SF invoice that they created.
3) Apologize for wasting my time and for sending me multiple threats to report to collections.
In return, I will remove my comments about them from social media channels.
Best,
