Colleen [redacted] brought her 08 kia sportage in for for a diagnosis on a few lights that were illuminated on her dash,. the abs and brake, esc and check engine light were all on when we brought her vehicle in. There a number of fault codes that were stored in the computer system. We had done a full...

vehicle scan and to go thru all these faults takes quite a bit of time. Colleen was shown all the various problems we saw. The oil pan was rusted thru and dripping oil everywhere. There were faults for the abs system, steering angle position sensor, cruise stop switch failure, and 1 oxygen sensor upstream. There was a broken sway link in the front end. After diagnosing the fault codes we called Colleen and explained to her what would be needed to be done. The faulty steering angle sensor and cruise stop switch were all related to the abs. These needed to be replaced and rechecked afterwards to make sure there were no other problems with the abs system. Colleen chose to replaced the oil pan and the broken sway link. She also authorized the 1 upstream oxygen sensor. I had told her on Friday the 31st of Mach that some of the parts were special order and would not see them until Monday. We had received all the parts except the steering angle position sensor. Our phone system went down due to the internet until 3:30 pm on that Monday. I was not present when Colleen picked up her car. She did not pay for the Steering angle sensor and did not want us to install that part. The following day I called Colleen to follow up with her to find out why she didn't want to do the steering angle sensor. She informed me that she was having the same lights abs and esc light being on and abs kicking intermittently. I told her that the steering angle sensor would need to be installed and the whole system rechecked. Its impossible that Colleens car is worse than when she brought her car in. The oil pan is new and not leaking everywhere and sway links in the front are now new and not clunking, and oxygen sensor was replaced for the check engine light. Sometimes there are phases in a repair, the steering angle sensor and cruise stop switch needed to be replaced before any further testing could be done. The cruise stop switch was completed and steering angle sensor needs to be done yet. If Colleen wants her problems to be fixed, she needs to complete the recommended repairs. When Colleen brought her car back in for me to recheck it she waited and was here for 20 minutes, walked up to the counter and grabbed her keys off the repair order and said she was calling the Revdex.com. That was last time I heard from Colleen until this letter. If you have any further questions please feel free to contact me. Thank you

I'm writing to you in response to a complaint from ID [redacted]. I won't mention names to keep privacy. In early Febuary 2015 he had towed her 2000 nissan quest in to expert car care inc. to have a overheating problem looked into. She had told me that they had not driven the van for a long time due...

to it was overheating. She did not want to take her van back to who had previously worked on it. We performed a cooling system inspection and found the radiator was blown out, the water pump bypass was leaking. I had suggested we replace the thermostat, and radiator hoses since they were original and we were going to be opening up the cooling system, and this would be a good time to replace since it had overheated. I also explained to them that we would need to recheck the van after the repairs to make sure there were no other problems like the headgaskets and to make sure the cooling fans were working properly. The customer authorized us to to make the necessary repairs and to recheck the van after the repairs were completed. After the repairs were completed we rechecked the cooling system and bled the cooling system and test drove. After 2 test drives the van had not overheated. We then took it on a 3rd test drive and it started to run hot. We looked into the problem and there were combustion gases coming through and constant air getting pushed through the cooling system.I called the customer and told her of our findings. I told her that the cylinder heads need to be pulled, sent out and pressure checked for cracks and if good then machine them. I also told her that it would be a good idea to replace the timing belt and tensioner and water pump She said she would have to talk it over with her son and get back to me. A few days later she called me and said to go ahead. I had given her the total of the first repair and then the total of the secondary part of the repairs. I told her that we would need half down and the balance when completed. She came in and paid half down $1,545.44 on Febuary 13th 2015. We completed the repairs on Febuary 24th 2015.The customer came in on Febuary 25th 2015 and paid the balance of $1,545.44 and picked her van up. I told her that and put in writing that our repiars had a 12 month or 12,000 mile warranty on parts and labor. On march 27th 2015 she brought her van in because while driving the lights went dim and some lights came on the dash, she was afraid it was going to die out. I looked at her van and could not find anything wrong. She left her van overnight to have us look into further to try and duplicate her complaint. I had her van running in the shop for about an hour and had out charging system tester in place. The alternator output had dropped from 13.8 volts to 11.1 volts for a few seconds and would jump back up and then drop out again. I explained to her that when the pcm doesnt get the proper voltage it can do weird things and pop on warning lights. This problem happened under a full load, with the head lights on and blower on with the heat on. I told her that she could drive it, just dont run a lot of accessories in the mean time. On April 30th She had called me and told me that her van was broken down and had another shop look at it and they said there were problems due to our repairs. She said they had taken pictures and wanted to meet up with me that night to discuss a refund. I asked her what kind of problems was she having? She would not tell me. I told her that I could not meet up that night, I had to pick up my kids that night, I could meet up with her on Monday May 4th at 4:30 pm. She had requested we meet at the Mcdonalds on 84th and greenfield because she wasn't comfortable coming to the shop to discuss this. I told her I understood and went there on Monday at 4:20 pm. I waited till 5:00 pm and she did not show up. I tried calling her and she did not answer, so I left a message. She did not return my call. I'm in the dark on the problems she is having since she will not tell me. If there is any problems with the work we did its under a 12 month or 12,000 mile warranty. We need to know the problem in order to resolve her problem. We have a A+ rating with the Revdex.com. and have been in business almost 6 years. We strive to do our best for each and every customer. I will keep trying to help this customer but I need to know the problems she is having so I can help. Best Regards,
