Review: Neil F[redacted] false advertises himself as GLR Contractors and even has it on the vehicle he drives. He offers services, specifically in construction or remodeling, he is neither licensed, bonded or insured. [redacted] offered a false contract that was very vague nor signed by him. I hired him over a year ago to remodel my 2600 sq ft home, all the of the gutting was finished before he came in. I was given a price of $[redacted] (JUST for the labor) materials were to be taken care of on my own, with 40% down, 10% upon completion of drywall, 10% upon completion of the kitchen cabinets and the rest when the project was finished. My first check was for $[redacted], he then asked me for another $[redacted] (because he was having hard times, yet the drywall was not finished), I gladly wrote the check. He then asked for another $[redacted] (again for hard times and the kitchen cabinets weren't installed) I reluctantly wrote the check. Since, he asked asked me TWO more times for more money. We spent 5 hours going over every detail on the initial visit of what needed to be completed and he was well aware of what his quote needed to include, however months after the project started he was uncomfortable doing the drywall, the plumbing, the electric, the heating and cooling, the insulation, the door stripping...ALL of which were subcontracted, ALL of which were paid by me. He stopped showing up and has done very little work, he has drug his feet and made every excuse in the book even accusing myself at one point in a verbal altercation on the phone (professional, I know). After I hired him in Sept. '13 he told me he would be finished Dec "13, then April '14, then June '14 then Fall '14. I am a single mother that spent my life savings to build a home for myself and my infant to no avail. Come to find, two months into my project he started another building for a man, quoted him the same price and ripped him off the same way and left the project unfinished half way through. He is a scam artist! He also doesn't file taxes.Desired Settlement: I was told by an attorney to cut my losses and that I would probably never see my money from this person. I have exuberant evidence to prove and support my claim and my goal is that he won't be able to go around doing this to anyone else anymore and also, that he be turned into the IRS, this way if he does continue to scam people and someone wants to garnish his wages, then they are able. I want him held accountable in any way he possibly can be.
