Review: Vending machines charging more then the advertised price even when paying with cash.

This company has vending machines around the Chico state campus. I purchased a $1.00 candy bar which was advertised. With the debit card fee the total amount should be $1.10 but for some reason I was charged $1.35. I thought that this was because of something to do with the debit card fee. But then the next day I bought the same item with cash and a put in the dollar bill and the computerized part of the machine was flashing that the item was $1.35. They raised the prices of the 1.00 items to 1.25 without changing the prices displayed under the items in the machine. I can't imagine that it is that hard to change the prices ? I looked back at my bank statement and they charged me $1.35 on 8 November 2013 for a $1.00 item. It was the 22nd of novemeber when I figured out what was going on. So they have had the higher prices since at least the 8th of november without changing the posted prices. I can imagine that they restock the machines at least a couple times per week? I have pictures of the machine and the bank statement that I can send you. Desired Settlement: Well I would like to be refunded my money on principle because doing this is wrong. Plus for any person paying with a debit card is tricked into thinking that the amount is less. I think every person that was charged the higher amount with a debit card should get back their money.

I apologize for any inconvenience. The credit card reader is an outside company and the price you paid doesn't have anything to do with the .10 cent cardreader charge. My guess is the item or items you bought are miss marked in the machine and actually are $1.25. It would be helpful to know the location of the machine and the item you bought so we can correct the problem.I have no issue giving you your .50 cent refund. Our office is located right down the street from the Wrec center. 945 w 2nd st. Feel free to come by anytime between the hours of 9AM and 4PM M-F. I look forward to hearing from you."

We would be more than happy to refund the monies that Mr. [redacted] is requesting, but he has not attempted to collect, or contact us directly at all for that matter, despite our efforts.

We would truly like to resolve this, as we value each customer, and have never experienced an error taken above and beyond to this level, nor a customer this truly disturbed by an error.

That being said, we encourage Mr. [redacted] to reach out to us for the refund that he desires. We can even mail him the lost monies (provided that we are supplied a valid mailing address. Cost of postage is not an issue) if he does not wish to initiate any further contact with us, due to the unfortunate distest of our company.

We are very sorry for any inconvenience or emotional distress this error issue has caused any parties involved, and we truly wish to resolve this matter soon.
